Happy Gilmore 2 Soundtrack Guide: Every Song & When They Play

The soundtrack for Happy Gilmore 2 includes mostly rock music, which works well because it’s exactly what you’d think Adam Sandler’s iconic character would listen to. Even though reviews for Happy Gilmore 2 have been quite negative, with Screen Rant’s own Lewis Glazebrook giving it a score of 5 out of 10, it’s undeniable that it features great music.

Virginia, who is Happy’s wife in the comedy series, shockingly dies at the beginning of Happy Gilmore 2. This causes Happy to denounce golfing and become an alcoholic. However, when he needs to figure out a way to send his daughter to an elite dance program in Paris, he picks up his clubs again and starts his comeback.

The soundtrack for the sequel works perfectly for Happy’s comeback story. The music, along with the many hilarious moments in Happy Gilmore 2, make it a very entertaining watch. If you enjoyed the sequel and want to learn more about the music, here is every song in Happy Gilmore 2 and when they play:

When Every Song On The Happy Gilmore 2 Soundtrack Plays In The Movie

The Soundtrack Includes Songs From Legendary Artists Like Lynyrd Skynyrd & Survivor

“Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man” by The Bob Seger System: The song plays during the opening montage in Happy Gilmore 2. This montage establishes what Happy and Virginia have been up to since the events of the first film. Most notably, they had four boys and one girl in the years after the first movie. However, tragically, this montage ends with Happy shooting a golf ball at Virginia, killing her.

“Tuesday’s Gone” by Lynyrd Skynyrd: After Virginia pᴀsses away, Happy’s life starts to fall apart. “Tuesday’s Gone” plays over another montage which features Happy losing his house, money, and spiraling out of control. This song also plays at the end of Happy Gilmore 2, when Happy watches the plane carrying his children fly away. After the plane is gone, Happy sees his old friends and Virginia in the sky, further connecting the sequel to the original movie.

“Pop Muzic” by M and Robin Scott: This song plays on the speaker of the grocery store, which is where Happy works after he loses all of his money. During this scene, Happy drinks liquor from a fake cucumber, showing just how far he has fallen after Virginia’s death.

“Swingin Party” by The Replacements: Even though Happy has lost so much, at least his children stay by his side. Near the beginning of the movie, Happy and his kids have a family dinner, and he apologizes to them for losing all of his money. After this conversation, “Swingin Party” plays as his four boys have a food fight at the table.

“Wooly Bully” by Sam the Sham and The Pharaohs: “Wooly Bully” plays during a flashback scene to the first movie, showing Happy pushing his first ever caddy. This caddy returns in Happy Gilmore 2 and is played by professional golfer Will Zalatoris.

“Don QuicH๏τte (No Están Aquí)” by Magazine 60: Many years after Virginia’s death, Happy decides to return to golf. His first time back on a golf course, he joins up with three other golfers, who are played by Margaret Qualley, Eric Andre, and Martin Herlihy. While he plays (not so well) with these three golfers, this song plays.

“Get Low” by Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz featuring Ying Yang Twins: During the same scene, this song plays when Qualley’s character successfully shoots her ball out of the sandpit. As “Get Low” plays, Qualley, Andre, and Herlihy’s characters all celebrate together.

“Juke Box Hero” by Foreigner: After Happy finds his swing again and gains some confidence, “Juke Box Hero” plays during the movie’s most notable training montage. During this montage, Happy trains with his children and several other people and slowly starts to get better and better at golf again.

“She Sells Sanctuary” by The Cult: This song plays during Happy’s first tournament upon his return to the PGA Tour. On the first day of the tournament, Happy golfs incredibly well and quickly rises up the leaderboard.

“Magic” by Pilot: Still on the first day of the tournament, “Magic” plays after Happy makes a final putt which puts him in the number one spot on the leaderboard. This moment confirms that, even though he is older, Happy can still compete against the best golfers in the world.

“Blue Moon” by The Marcels: This song plays during the flashback which introduces Ben Daggett, who serves as Frank Manatee’s inspiration for creating Maxi Golf. During this flashback, Frank explains to Shooter that, just like Ben Daggett, all the Maxi golfers have a surgical enhancement that allows them to shoot the ball way further.

“Sitting Down Is Stupid” by Floyd Wonder: Before competing against the Maxi golfers, Happy and the others need to train hard. This song plays while Happy and the four other highest-ranking PGA golfers train. These golfers include Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Bryson Dechambeau, and Brooks Koepka.

“Knights of Cydonia” by Muse: This song plays just before the Maxi compeтιтion is about to begin. Compared to tournaments on the PGA Tour, the Maxi league is incredibly theatrical. While “Knights of Cydonia” plays, Frank gets the audience members hyped up for the compeтιтion.

“Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor: To keep up the theatrics, both golfing teams get special entrances before the climax of Happy Gilmore 2 begins. First, the Maxi team enters to “Eye of the Tiger” and dance on stage to entertain the audience.

“Goodbye to You” by Scandal featuring Patty Smyth: Unlike “Eye of the Tiger,” “Goodbye to You” doesn’t get the audience hyped up, which is exactly why Frank chooses to play it while Happy and his team make their entrance. This song choice is meant to suggest that traditional golf won’t be around for much longer.

“Power Glove” by Knife Party: This song plays as the golfers walk onto the first hole in the Maxi compeтιтion. At the start of this hole, they stand on a tall cliff and overlook a forest. The PGA golfers don’t know how to approach this hole at all, but the Maxi golfers, with their surgical enhancements, are confident that they can easily shoot their balls over the forest.

“Jump Around” by House of Pain: “Jump Around” plays during the montage which features all the golfers competing in the Maxi compeтιтion. During this montage, the golfers are seen driving wildly through the forest, walking through fire to shoot balls, etc. All of these moments show how bizarre the Maxi league is compared to traditional golf.

“Staring Down a Mountain” by Daniel Pemberton: This song plays as Brooks Koepka and the Maxi golfer played by Becky Lynch are competing against each other on the snow-themed hole.

“The Waiting” by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers: This is the final song on the soundtrack and starts to play just after Happy realizes that he didn’t charge his electric Rolls-Royce. Forced to walk home, this song plays as the credits start to roll.
