Skeet Ulrich’s Mystery Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 Character: Every Possibility Explained

More details about Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 were revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, and while there are still a lot of questions surrounding Skeet Ulrich’s mystery role, here are all of the possibilities explained. Screen Rant is in attendance at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, where the Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 panel revealed a lot of new information about the film, including an appearance from Skeet Ulrich.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2023 video game movie adaptation, bringing back Freddy Fazbear and the animatronic gang for another horrific adventure. The trailers for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 tease that the animatronics are leaving the pizzeria this time around, making for a much more dangerous story that is still shrouded in mystery.

Matthew Lillard’s William Afton will be joined by his Scream co-star Skeet Ulrich in the upcoming sequel, but his role still hasn’t been revealed yet. At the Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 panel, Ulrich said “I cannot [reveal what character I’m playing.] I play somebody with a very particular and specific past and somebody with a very deep emotional tie to what’s going on.” This means that the character is important to the events of the sequel, but it doesn’t really narrow things down.

Skeet Ulrich Is Theorized To Play Henry Emily In Five Nights At Freddy’s 2

The lore of the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise is incredibly complicated, with it being fleshed out in all kinds of clues hidden throughout the games as well as supplemental materials to the video games. Because of this, there is a vast array of characters that Skeet Ulrich could play, and it is impossible to fully pin one down. However, the most theorized role for Skeet Ulrich in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is Henry Emily.

In the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, Henry Emily is also known as the Cᴀssette Man, with him first being referenced in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. Since then, the character has been fleshed out in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator as well as the Five Nights at Freddy’s book, The Silver Eyes.

In the lore of the franchise, Henry Emily was the former partner of William Afton. The duo developed the original animatronic suits alongside each other, but unbeknownst to Emily, Afton had nefarious plans for the suits. Emily’s daughter was the first child murdered at the hands of William Afton, with Emily deciding to take Afton down.

So, Emily records a series of cᴀssettes that are designed to help the player character complete these plans. The fate of Henry Emily hasn’t been revealed in the Five Nights at Freddy’s games, but the upcoming sequel movie could provide more information.

Other Five Nights At Freddy’s Characters Ulrich Can Play

Besides Henry Emily

While Skeet Ulrich playing Henry Emily is exciting, there are a few other Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 characters that the actor could potentially play. One possibility is a more accurate version of Phone Guy. In the games, Ralph the security guard is the one who calls the player to give them tips on warding off the animatronics. In the movie, however, William Afton plays this role, with a security guard named Ralph also appearing.

Skeet Ulrich could play a proper Phone Guy, acting independently of William Afton in order to call Mike Schmidt and give him tips on defeating the animatronics. While this would complicate things a bit, it would be more accurate to the games, as many Five Nights at Freddy’s fans weren’t wild about the Phone Guy changes in the first movie.

Another possibility is that Skeet Ulrich could play a version of Edwin Murray. In Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic, Murray is the one who creates the Mimic animatronic. While it hasn’t been confirmed if the Mimic will appear in the movies, this is the perfect way to parallel Lillard’s character with Ulrich’s character while also introducing the antagonistic animatronic.

Could Skeet Ulrich Play An Original Character In Five Nights At Freddy’s 2?

And Who Would It Be?

While there are other character options, it seems most likely that Skeet Ulrich will be playing Henry Emily. If he isn’t playing a pre-established Five Nights at Freddy’s character, however, there is always the possibility that he could be playing an original character. The first Five Nights at Freddy’s movie introduced several original characters, such as Abby Schmidt and Vanessa.

Ulrich could be playing an original character who has a familial connection to the Schmidt family, putting him on the side of the protagonists. However, he could also be related to the Aftons, with him being a yet-unseen brother of William Afton. This would mean that Lillard and Ulrich’s Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 reunion would make them partners in crime again, making their Scream comeback even better.

There are all kinds of theories as to who Skeet Ulrich could be playing, and it will be impossible to tell until the film is actually released. However, Skeet Ulrich’s casting is one of the most exciting parts of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.
