Superman sets the DCU up for some big stories ahead, but one minor moment makes a future entry so much more interesting. With Superman now finally landing in theaters, the DCU is in full swing. And with Peacemaker season 2, and movies like Supergirl and Clayface slated to release in 2026, there is a lot to look forward to from this universe of stories.
However, with several projects in the pipeline, it’s easy for some to be overlooked. However, the resolution of Superman sheds some light on what could be coming in one of the less anticipated projects due to come out in Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
Superman’s Ending Sends Lex Luthor To A Notable DC Location That’s Already Been Shown Before
Belle Reve Is A Well-Known DC Prison For The Worst Villains
Superman finds himself at odds with the evil genius, Lex Luthor, as played by the spectacular Nicholas Hoult. Initially, Luthor gets the upper hand, and Superman is handed over to Lex’s private security, who transport him to a terrifying pocket dimension created by Lex. Despite this, Superman eventually breaks free, and he makes his way to confront Lex.
But beyond simply confronting his rival, Superman’s friends manage to gather a wealth of evidence about Lex’s shady dealings, resulting in the billionaire being taken to prison. But Lex isn’t sent to just any prison, he is sent to Belle Reve, a location that was seen several times in the DCEU, and is now being set up as canonical in the DCU, but it makes another intended DCU project all the more exciting.
Lex Luthor’s Superman Ending Makes Waller A Way Bigger Deal
Waller Could Prove To Be A Major DCU Entry
Amanda Waller is one of the most prolific characters from the DCEU, having appeared in several projects and TV shows, and now, she ᴀsserts herself as a vital part of the DCU. Played by Viola Davis, whose astonishing talents have made her a staple of both the previous franchise and the reboot, Waller is set to have an even larger role in the DCU.
For instance, the DCU has finally given this character a series of her own, Waller, which is set to follow the character without the hindrance of some other star in the lead role. But, the contents of this show haven’t exactly ignited fans’ imaginations, as Waller is not super herself, she just directs other powered-beings into trouble.
But despite Waller’s lack of powers, her influence and her ability to strike fear into those in her care is unrivaled. And she is often seen as a person in power at places like Belle Reve, which means her show could actually shine a spotlight on Luthor after his capture. If this is the case, it would raise the stakes significantly, and directly tie in to the events of Superman, making Waller even more exciting.
