Happy Gilmore 2 Is Declared “A Must-Watch” By A Major Popstar With A 13/10 Review

Adam Sandler’s pro-golfing return in Happy Gilmore 2 has received a glowing review from one of the world’s biggest pop stars. Picking up nearly 30 years after Sandler’s iconic 1996 comedy, the belated sequel recently made its streaming debut on July 25 via Netflix. Also joining Sandler are original cast members Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, and Ben Stiller.

While the return of one of Sandler’s best-known characters has been the source of much excitement for fans, reviews for Happy Gilmore 2 have been mixed. Currently sitting at 61% on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, some critics are hailing the movie’s good-natured fun, while others have taken issue with the messy plot and overreliance on celebrity cameos.

Happy Gilmore 2 Gets A Glowing Review From Taylor Swift

Adam Sandler’s Sequel Had The Pop Star “Cackling And Cheering”

One person who is not at all concerned about Happy Gilmore 2’s shortcomings is none other than pop sensation Taylor Swift. However, Swift’s opinion may not be entirely unbiased, given that her current paramour, Travis Kelce, is also among the movie’s long list of celebrity cameos that also includes the likes of Eminem, Guy Fieri, and several famous golfing pros.

Taking to Instagram, Swift recently posted her own Happy Gilmore 2 review, encouraging her fans to go and watch it “as soon as humanly possible.” Giving the sequel an enthusiastic 13/10 rating, she also suggested the movie had her “cackling and cheering” the whole way through. Check out her post below:

Swift is not alone in singing her praises of Sandler’s return as Happy Gilmore, and despite mixed reviews, there are still many viewers expressing their joy at seeing this hockey-loving pro-golfer return to the championship circuit. Moreover, the original Happy Gilmore also received similar mixed reviews on its release and would still go on to become a cult classic.

While it may be best to take Swift’s glowing endorsement with a proverbial grain of salt, her take does still echo those of many other audiences excited to see Sandler return to his roots. Given Swift’s extensive fanbase, her review may even encourage a whole new subset of fans to give Happy Gilmore 2 a watch as well.
