Warning! This article contains minor spoilers for The Fantastic Four: First Steps.Following the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, fans are already looking forward to the next project on the MCU slate. The Multiverse Saga has had some rocky moments, but it seems like the MCU is picking up momentum. The past months have seen some solid review results for the MCU, first with Thunderbolts* and now with the reviews for The Fantastic Four.
After the successes of this year, Marvel fans will have a lengthy wait until the next MCU project. The next theatrical release is slated for just over a year from now, and is expected to be key in setting up Avengers: Doomsday. However, there is plenty to discuss with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which should keep fans busy.
Marvel’s Next Movie After The Fantastic Four: First Steps Releases In July 2026
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Is The MCU’s 4th Spider-Man Movie
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the next film on the MCU slate, and it’s currently set to release on July 31, 2026. The MCU’s fourth Spider-Man film will be a reset of sorts following the events of No Way Home. Besides Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will also return, though we still don’t know the extent of their roles.
The project is still in the early stages of production, but more updates are expected very soon, as Holland confirmed that filming will take place this summer. This does seem like a very short production window considering it’s supposed to premiere in just over a year, so delays aren’t impossible, but fans can look forward to July 2026 for now.
What To Expect From Spider-Man: Brand New Day
The Film Should Be Key In Setting Up Avengers: Doomsday
One of the biggest Spider-Man: Brand New Day updates so far is that Jon Bernthal will be reprising his MCU role of Frank Castle. A team-up between Spider-Man and the Punisher is expected, especially since this film will focus on Spider-Man as a street-level hero. It’s the perfect place for Spider-Man to be, considering how No Way Home ended.
As the film is directly ahead of it in the slate, it’s somewhat surprising that The Fantastic Four: First Steps did nothing to set up Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ ending didn’t even finish off in Earth-616 as was expected after Thunderbolts*. This means that Brand New Day should largely stand on its own, while still tying to the greater MCU.
Avengers: Doomsday has still been barely set up in the MCU, so Spider-Man: Brand New Day may have to do some heavy lifting, since various loose ends need to come together soon. Now that such a highly anticipated project in The Fantastic Four: First Steps has finally been released, fans can start seriously looking forward to the build-up to Doomsday.
