Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 Trailer Reveals First Look At The Puppet & An Iconic Game Trick

A new trailer for Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 teases a puppet and a new game trick. Put out by Blumhouse, the film is a sequel to the 2023 horror movie, as well as an adaptation of the popular video game series of the same name. The movie will see Piper Rubio, Josh Hutcherson, and Elizabeth Lail return to their roles, with a cast that also features McKenna Grace and Wayne Knight.

Despite releasing synchronously on Peacock, the first Five Nights at Freddy’s movie did incredibly well in theaters, making a whopping $291.4 million worldwide. The second film hopes to ride this momentum and the anticipation as it prepares for its December 5 release.

Now, Blumhouse has revealed the trailer for Five Nights At Freddy’s 2. The trailer opens with a group of kids exploring the original Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria location. Things seem to be going smoothly until one of the animatronics comes to life from a large metal gift box.

Then, the scene transitions to cut back to the first movie’s Mike, after he has made a promise to Abby that he would fix those animatronics. When Abby’s toy FazTalker begins to take on a life of its own, things take a dramatic turn for the worse, as history repeats itself.

What This Means For Five Nights At Freddy’s 2

A Key Game Trick Is Seen In The Last Moments

The biggest reveal of the Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 trailer is shown in the last moments. Hearing the scary animatronics while alone at night, Mike looks over at a withering Freddy mask. The next time one approaches him, he puts a mask in front of his face to seemingly ward them off.

This moment recreates a classic trick from the original Five Nights at Freddy’s games. This is a clever homage to the source material and indicative of how this Blumhouse sequel is interacting with the indie video games that brought the IP to fame.

The trailer also shows how Five Nights at Freddy’s will dive into the lore behind the characters. Characters are brought back to the original pizzeria, adding opportunities to really dig into the lore behind this horror story.
