John Krasinski & Natalie Portman’s Indiana Jones Replacement Has Dominated Streaming For 2 Months

John Krasinski and Natalie Portman starred in an Indiana Jones replacement in 2025, and the family adventure movie has dominated streaming for two months now. John Krasinski and Natalie Portman are two of the most marketable stars working today, so while many may have missed this streaming hit, it isn’t surprising how much of a success the film has been.

Apple TV+ has become a home for all kinds of critically acclaimed original movies and TV shows, with the brand becoming synonymous with quality. While it isn’t the most popular of streaming services, it has been behind several theatrically released hits like F1 and Killers of the Flower Moon. However, its streaming successes are just as impressive.

Fountain Of Youth Has Dominated Apple TV+ For Two Months

It Is Still #1 On The Platform

Fountain of Youth was released in 2025 on Apple TV+, and it has consistently been one of the most popular projects on the platform since it dropped. Released on May 23, 2025, Fountain of Youth almost immediately hit the #1 spot on Apple TV+, with it only briefly losing #1 to Sydney Sweeney’s Echo Valley before quickly reclaiming the spot until now (via FlixPatrol).

The adventure mystery movie follows two siblings who embark on a globe-trotting quest to finally find the тιтular Fountain of Youth. Fountain of Youth features a star-studded cast that includes John Krasinski, Natalie Portman, Eiza González, Domhnall Gleeson, Stanley Tucci, and more.

What This Means For Fountain Of Youth

How Has It Performed Critically?

Fountain of Youth‘s streaming successes prove that big-budget adventure movies with star-studded casts are great for Apple TV+, following up on similar hits like The Gorge. While Apple is releasing many of its biggest films in theaters, Fountain of Youth‘s success proves that there is still room for original movie content on the platform.

However, Fountain of Youth‘s performance also proves that streaming success doesn’t necessarily equate to critical success. While the film has been a hit when it comes to numbers, its reviews haven’t fared nearly as well. As of the writing of this article, Fountain of Youth only has a 35% critic score and a 39% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Considering that many of Apple’s movies and TV shows are considered the best in the streaming business, it is odd to see a critical slip-up like this. This could lead to the concerning realization that quality doesn’t matter that much when it comes to streaming numbers, with Fountain of Youth having the potential to lead Apple TV+ down some unfortunate paths.
