My Favorite Ozzy Osbourne Movie Moment Is Still Brilliantly Funny 32 Years Later

Ozzy Osbourne’s death has fans all over the world reminiscing on his wild career, including an iconic movie moment from 1993. Even though Osbourne doesn’t appear in the movie himself, it’s an offbeat tribute to the man he was and the life he led, and the strange mythology that seemed to follow him around.

Ozzy Osbourne’s death marks a sad day for heavy metal fans, but it’s reᴀssuring to know that the Black Sabbath leader recently had a successful farewell show. This is a great way to go out, since it allowed Osbourne to soak up the adulation from his fans one last time before retiring from live music. Unfortunately, this retirement was much too short.

Wayne’s World 2’s Wacky Ozzy Osbourne Story Is One Of The Movie’s Best Scenes

Del Preston’s Story Sums Up Ozzy’s Legendary Status

Wayne’s World 2 is one of Mike Myers’ funniest movies, continuing in the same vein as the original. This means that it has plenty of admiration for the legends of rock and roll, as Wayne and Garth try to put on a huge rock concert featuring many of their favorite bands.

To help put on their concert, Wayne and Garth recruit Del Preston, a roadie who has experience of touring with many of the biggest rock bands in history. When he arrives from Britain, he tells Wayne’s friends a completely unhinged story about robbing a Sri Lankan sweet shop with Keith Moon and David Crosby to get Ozzy Osbourne 1000 brown M&Ms.

Del’s story sounds as outlandish and implausible as many rock myths ᴀssociated with Osbourne.

There are plenty of great touches that make this scene a highlight of the movie, like the ornate china teapot that the diner seems to have reserved for their British customers, and Garth’s face when Del reveals that he had to beat the shopkeeper to death with his own shoes. Ralph Brown’s delivery is what really makes the monologue so hilarious.

The Wayne’s World movies are known for their eye-catching cameos, including rock royalty like Alice Cooper and Steven Tyler. Even though Osbourne doesn’t appear in this scene, it’s still an oddly touching tribute. Del’s story sounds as outlandish and implausible as many rock myths ᴀssociated with Osbourne. It’s hard sometimes to tell which of these tales are true.

Ozzy Osbourne Has A Long History In Movies & TV

Ozzy Played Himself In Little Nicky, The Bernie Mac Show, 2016’s Ghostbusters And More

7 THE OSBOURNES

While Osbourne was primarily known for his music, he had a second career in the early 2000s as a reality star. The Osbournes allowed fans to look into his family’s life, and it immediately became the biggest show in MTV’s history. This shows just how popular Osbourne was, but also how entertaining he was just being himself.

Osbourne also made several cameo appearances in movies and TV shows over the years, mostly playing himself. Nine years after Wayne’s World 2, he appeared in another Mike Myers movie, delivering a brief cameo with the rest of his family in Austin Powers in Goldmember.
