While Tom Hanks has been involved in several acclaimed movies, he shows no signs of slowing down, earning his sixth Oscar nomination in 2020 for A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. Tom Hanks’ beloved classic movie Forrest Gump is set to arrive on Hulu on August 1, 2025. This will be one of several popular movies dropping on the streaming service that day. Also arriving on Hulu are 28 Days, A Simple Favor, Click, Coyote Ugly, Date Night, District 9, Evil ᴅᴇᴀᴅ (2013), Father of the Bride, and Pretty Woman.

Of those movies, Forrest Gump remains the one with the highest critical acclaim. Released in 1994 and directed by Robert Zemeckis, Tom Hanks stars as the тιтular character, moving through several historical events and experiences throughout the 20th century. Zemeckis digitally added Hanks to several real-life newsreels among historical figures.

This made Hanks the first actor since Spencer Tracy to win two consecutive Oscars for Best Actor.

Forrest Gump earned 13 Oscar nominations, winning six of them, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor for Hanks.
