July 25 Is Going To Be A Great Day For Adam Sandler Fans

Love him or hate him, Adam Sandler has been a formative part of the comedy genre over the past couple of decades. The actor is known for a plethora of goofy movies with varying levels of quality. This includes everything from the well-received 50 First Dates to the widely panned Jack and Jill.

In more recent years, Sandler has been making some career pivots away from his sillier work. The 2019 movie Uncut Gems helped kick off this trend, seeing the actor play a more serious role. He continued on a more dramatic side in 2022.

That said, Sandler is still a comedian at heart. He has continued to make appearances on Saturday Night Live throughout the past few years, and even acted alongside his daughters in the comedy You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah. Pretty soon, another Sandler comedy will be released.

Adam Sandler Fans Get Something We’ve Wanted For Almost 30 Years

Happy Gilmore 2 Comes Out Next Week

The wait is almost over for Sandler’s most anticipated movie of the year: Happy Gilmore 2. The original Happy Gilmore came out in 1996, and followed a hockey player-turned-golfer who seeks to make money in the sport to help get back his grandmother’s house. While it did not get great reviews, it is considered a Sandler classic.

The long-awaited sequel takes place, appropriately, decades after the first film. Now, Happy has to take up golfing again, this time in order to make money to fund his daughters’ college educations. In addition to Sandler, Happy Gilmore 2‘s cast includes Julie Bowen, Ben Stiller, Sunny Sandler, Benny Safdie, Margaret Qualley, and Bad Bunny.

The wait is almost over, as Happy Gilmore 2 comes out next week on July 25.

This film is particularly exciting because it harkens back to one of Sandler’s best periods in comedy. Sure, the actor has done plenty of work in the genre, but the ’90s include some particular classics. Other key тιтles included The Wedding Singer and Big Daddy.

Of course, with recalling that era comes great pressure to perform for the sequel. Review-wise, the original will not be that hard to top. Nonetheless, fans hold a level of nostalgia for the story of the original film. The sequel cannot capture its exact appeal, but can still hope to bring a similar tone.

Regardless, July 25 is slated to be an exciting day for Sandler fans. If Happy Gilmore 2 goes well, there is no telling what other long-delayed Sandler films might be made. Hopefully, the movie ends up being a strong testament to Sandler’s lasting comedic impact.
