Superman Actor David Corenswet Wants To Play A Jedi Knight (And I Know The Perfect Star Wars Movie For Him)

Actor David Corenswet has confirmed his love for Star Wars several times while doing press for the DCU’s first major movie. Thanks to James Gunn’s Superman, Corenswet has just made his debut as the next live-action Man of Steel, cementing himself as a key focal point in a new cinematic universe for years to come. However, I know exactly how Star Wars could also use him.

According to David Corenswet himself, the Superman actor has said that it had been his childhood dream to play a Jedi Knight in the Star Wars galaxy. However, he’s also said he’d love to be an X-Wing pilot. While either option is certainly possible, I think there’s one upcoming Star Wars project that would be perfect, specifically when it comes to casting David Corenswet as a Jedi Knight.

David Corenswet’s Best Star Wars Chances Lie With Dawn of the Jedi

Getting A Role In James Mangold’s Upcoming Movie

We don’t know much about James Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi. Andor’s Beau Willimon will also be writing the script for Dawn of the Jedi alongside Mangold. The movie has been described as a biblical epic exploring the First Jedi, set 25,000 years before the Skywalker saga. Not only will the origins of the Jedi Order likely be shown, but also the discovery of the Force itself.

Some Star Wars fans expect to see the involvement of David Tennant’s Jedi droid Professor Huyang. After all, the beloved droid is one of the oldest Star Wars characters, having been built by the First Jedi themselves. That said, Mangold is in a unique position where he won’t be nearly as constrained by continuity and canon as most Star Wars projects are, as the movie is set so far into the past.

Keeping all that in mind, Dawn of the Jedi does seem like an exciting Star Wars movie that could easily cast someone like David Corenswet in a key Jedi role. By leaps and bounds, Superman has proven Corenswet’s ability to be a captivating hero, possessing very high moral standards and values all forms of life, just like the very best Jedi in the Star Wars canon.

All in all, Dawn of the Jedi feels like the project where Corenswet’s chances are best. Hopefully, Lucasfilm will at least give him an audition for some sort of role in the upcoming movie or some other Star Wars project in the future.

Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi does not yet have a release date. Superman is now playing in theaters from DC Studios.
