Ben Affleck’s Upcoming Action Movie Is Poised For More Success After New Record-Breaking $103 Million Hit

The Accountant 2’s streaming success is a great sign for Ben Affleck’s next action movie, which will be released later this year. After the first film hit theaters in 2016, the long-awaited The Accountant 2 was finally released earlier this year. Even though reviews for The Accountant 2 were quite solid, the movie underperfomed at the box office.

The sequel grossed $103 million at the worldwide box office on a budget of $80 million (via Box Office Mojo). Since a movie usually needs to make at least two and a half times its budget to become profitable, the Affleck-led sequel wasn’t a huge financial success in theaters. However, thankfully, The Accountant 2 has been a streaming hit.

According to a recent report, since making its streaming debut on June 5, The Accountant 2 has become Prime Video’s second most-watched movie of all time. This is great news for a potential third Accountant movie, as well as Affleck’s next film. Following the streaming success of The Accountant 2, Affleck can next be seen in the movie The RIP, which will hopefully attract an audience.

The Accountant 2’s Success On Streaming Is Good For Ben Affleck’s The Rip

Affleck Will Reunite With Matt Damon In The Rip

While The Accountant 2 received a theatrical release, Affleck’s next movie will not. Instead, The RIP will be released exclusively on Netflix later this year. The RIP does not yet have an exact release date, but it will definitely help Affleck be one of the most popular stars on streaming services this year.

After breaking several impressive Prime Video records, it’s clear that Affleck is a big draw for viewers watching movies at home. In addition to Affleck, several other notable actors will likely ensure that The RIP is a major streaming success. The upcoming movie also stars Matt Damon, Scott Adkins, Kyle Chandler, Steven Yeun, and Sasha Calle.

Since Affleck and Damon are both huge stars, it would be shocking if The RIP doesn’t find a mᴀssive audience.

Out of this group, Damon is obviously the most notable since he and Affleck rose up in Hollywood together. Ever since 1997’s Good Will Hunting, Affleck and Damon have been starring in movies together. Most recently, the duo have appeared in acclaimed films like The Last Duel and Air, the latter of which was also directed by Affleck.

Since Affleck and Damon are both huge stars, it would be shocking if The RIP doesn’t find a mᴀssive audience. The action film will follow a group of Miami police officers who discover millions of dollars in cash in a stash house, which leads to them questioning what they should do with it. Obviously, this will lead to a lot of drama and conflict in the film.

The Accountant 2 highlighted the amazing chemistry between Affleck and Jon Bernthal and the brotherly bond between their characters. This type of relationship could be echoed through Affleck and Damon’s characters in The RIP. Therefore, fans of The Accountant 2 will definitely want to watch Ben Affleck’s next action movie, which could help make it a major success on Netflix.
