WARNING: This article includes SPOILERS from the Superman movie.Milly Alcock’s Supergirl movie costume finally gets a closer reveal ahead of the heroine’s DC Universe film in 2026. James Gunn’s Superman movie is finally playing in theaters, with David Corenswet’s Man of Steel starting a new era for the beloved DC icon on the big screen in the DCU franchise.
However, towards the Superman movie ending, the DCU had a big surprise in store for fans as the film gave Alcock her Supergirl debut less than a year away from her own film being released. For audience members who have seen Superman, they got to see a quick glimpse of Alcock’s DCU costume.
Lindsay McAllister, who worked on Gunn’s DCU film as the co-department head hair, shared several images of Alcock from the set of Superman, showing the work she did with the actress’ hair, while also giving the closest look yet at Kara Zor-El’s superhero costume. Check out the full gallery below:

The Superman BTS pH๏τos are directly from the Fortress of Solitude set where Alcock’s Kara arrives towards the end of the film. In the scene, a very drunk Kara is there to pick up Krypto, while also giving the DCU its first Kara and Clark interaction, as well as the first DC live-action movie to feature Supergirl and Superman together.

What Milly Alcock’s Supergirl Costume PH๏τos Mean
With Alcock’s Supergirl costume fully seen, it showcases a number of things for the DCU heroine going forward. The way Alcock’s debut is done is one of the clever Superman movie references and Easter eggs, as the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic, which her movie is based on, has her in a full coat with the costume underneath her clothes when readers see her for the first time.
But with the design of the Supergirl costume being in tone with Corenswet’s Superman suit, the DCU is leaning into the Kryptonian cousins having a matching style in this franchise. While Clark is still wearing the same suit in the Superman movie post-credits scenes, time will tell if he will have an upgraded look next time he shows up in the DCU.
Our Take On Milly Alcock’s Supergirl Costume PH๏τos
It’s great to finally see Alcock’s suit close-up, especially after getting glimpses of the costume from Supergirl set pH๏τos when her film was still in production. After her very fun introduction, it’s going to be exciting to see how Alcock’s Girl of Steel grows through her upcoming Supergirl film.
Alcock’s cameo was also a great taste of what is to come through 2026’s Supergirl movie, as this is a very different version of Kara from what fans have seen before in live-action. With Superman and Supergirl both set to be big players in the DCU, the journey is just getting started for the Kryptonian cousins.
