Jurᴀssic World: Rebirth‘s box office has now blown past some key previous тιтles. The first Jurᴀssic movie in three years, the dinosaur-filled adventure film follows the story of a group of scientists set to collect the DNA of key prehistoric creatures. Rebirth is directed by Gareth Edwards and features Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali.
Jurᴀssic World: Rebirth had big shoes to fill at the box office. The franchise as a whole was a multi-billion-dollar enterprise, and the Jurᴀssic World movies have done especially well. Its immediate predecessor, Jurᴀssic World: Dominion, made just over $1 billion worldwide.
As per Box Office Mojo, Jurᴀssic World: Rebirth has now made it past several key тιтles. Jurᴀssic World: Rebirth has now pᴀssed Pirates of the Caribbean: ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Men Tell No Tales at the domestic box office. It also pᴀssed other franchise тιтles like Black Widow, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and franchise predecessor Jurᴀssic Park III.
It has also blown past key тιтles at the worldwide box office. It has crossed the overall gross of key movies like National Treasure, The Maze Runner, and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
What This Means For Jurᴀssic World: Rebirth
The Film Will Cross Even More 2025 тιтles
At the time of writing, Jurᴀssic World: Rebirth has made over $359 million worldwide. This total will only grow, as the film is currently entering its second weekend in theaters. Most likely, it will probably still fall under Jurᴀssic World: Dominion. Rebirth opened at $92 million, which is far less than Dominion‘s $145 million first weekend haul back in 2022.
That said, Jurᴀssic World: Rebirth already has the impressive feat of being in the top 10 at the worldwide box office among 2025 movies. It is in the No. 9 slot and is only $6 million behind its next compeтιтor, Sinners. The film also seems likely to pᴀss the MCU films Thunderbolts* and Captain America: Brave New World.
Furthermore, if the movie doesn’t quite reach the $1 billion mark like the past movies, Rebirth will still likely become a box office hit. Rebirth‘s budget was just $180 million and is already closing in on its break-even point by its second week. That means that the latest Jurᴀssic World installment will become a hit, which has been a difficult feat with many blockbusters this year.
Our Take On Jurᴀssic World: Rebirth’s New Milestone
This Is Good For The Franchise’s Future
Jurᴀssic World: Rebirth‘s recent box office shows that it can fare well against long-standing franchises. Something like Pirates of the Caribbean: ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Men Tell No Tales had the momentum of the recent films before it, with the same characters. Even so, Rebirth was able to cross others’ lifetime gross in under two weeks.
It is also good for the success of the Jurᴀssic franchise, which has launched a soft reboot. Jurᴀssic World: Rebirth breathed enough life back into the franchise to get audiences to come back to the theater again, suggesting that they could do the same for future Jurᴀssic World films.
