Released in 2003, Gore Verbinski’s epic adventure film grossed $654.3 million worldwide. The movie follows pirate Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) as he and blacksmith Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) rescue Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) from the Black Pearl’s cursed crew.

As a result of The Curse of the Black Pearl’s commercial and critical success, the franchise expanded with Johnny Depp at the helm.
