DC Fans Are Convinced The Superman Soundtrack Spoils A Major Cameo

DC Universe fans are convinced that a certain cameo has been spoiled through the Superman movie soundtrack. After the world premiere of David Corenswet’s DCU debut last night, from which the first Superman movie reactions have debuted, the world is closer than ever to finally witnessing James Gunn’s highly anticipated film.

During the premiere in Los Angeles for the Superman movie, bits of the soundtrack by John Murphy and David Fleming played, and were posted on social media by @DCUSuperNews. However, one particular clip is currently gaining a lot of attention, with fans theorizing that it is actually foreshadowing a cameo. Listen to it below:

The track sounds similar to Robert Pattinson’s The Batman theme, which had an original score by Michael Giacchino. This has led DCU fans to speculate that Pattinson’s Batman has a secret cameo in the movie.

However, it should be noted that if these tracks came from a world premiere live stream, it might be that The Batman score played while director Matt Reeves walked the carpet. The Superman soundtrack has not yet been officially released. Still, that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about a potential cameo.

@CineBat was one of many to suspect that this was related to Batman, saying, “hold on a second…” before attaching a clip of Giacchino’s score for comparison.

@Almighty_LDP added a praying hockey player while saying, “Please… please let this mean something,” hoping that it’s indeed Pattinson’s Batman.

@bottegaprincess got so excited, they shared in all caps, “IS THIS WHAT I THINK IT IS,” including a GIF of Pattinson’s Batman from the 2022 movie.

@Garabatako stressed, “I want it but I don’t wanna get disappointed,” including a GIF from Avengers: Endgame when Clint Barton tells Natasha Romanoff, “Don’t give me hope.”

@Jackson_Zappa shared, “I know I’m delusional but oh my god no way,” with a funny GIF of DJ Khaled having a drink before suddenly getting up in shock.

What The Superman Soundtrack Actually Means

While there are definitely similarities in the scores, it may not have been meant to be Pattinson’s Batman theme, and even if it were, there is no way that DC Studios would have let a cameo like that get spoiled this close to Superman’s release. Gunn has reiterated many times that Pattinson’s Batman is not in the DCU, as his films exist as an Elseworlds property.

The Superman soundtrack above is likely meant to be tied to something way different from Batman suddenly showing up in the film. Since DC Studios is still working on the DCU’s Batman movie script, they haven’t even cast a Bruce Wayne actor in the franchise at this point, meaning he couldn’t be in Superman at all, even if it wasn’t Pattinson.

Our Take On The Superman Soundtrack Potentially Spoiling A Major Cameo

As understandable as it is that many fans want Pattinson’s Batman to be tied to the DCU, it is simply not going to happen. With that said, it’s funny how similar that part of the Superman soundtrack is to Giacchino’s The Batman score, which seems to be just a coincidence.

Whether or not there are references to the DCU’s Batman in Superman remains to be seen, given that he is already active as a crime fighter in this franchise. Once Superman arrives in theaters this week, fans will be able to see for themselves what that soundtrack was related to in the story.
