If Pirates Of The Caribbean 6 Brings Back Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow, This Iconic Villain Must Return Too

While very little is known about Pirates of the Caribbean 6 so far, there has still been a lot of speculation about how the next installment is going to continue the franchise, with most of the conversation surrounding whether Johnny Depp will return as the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow.

If Depp does return, then the franchise will have to be a sequel to the original five films, existing in the same canon as them. The film will need to come up with an interesting new story that hearkens back to the original trilogy, and bringing back the Pirates franchise’s best villain would be a great way to do so.

Davy Jones Is Still One Of POTC’s Best Villains

He Remains An Iconic Villain To This Day

There were plenty of iconic characters from the original Pirates trilogy, but Davy Jones always managed to rank among the best. He had a great look, an interesting backstory, and a fantastic performance by Bill Nighy, all of which made him not just one of the best Pirates villains but one of the most iconic antagonists of all time.

Davy Jones was always the stand-out Pirates villain, and he could be a great addition to Pirates 6 if the writers can find a satisfying way to reintroduce him.

While there is certainly something to be said about Barbossa in the first movie, who was also excellent, as well as Beckett from the second and third films, Davy Jones was always the stand-out villain. Thus, he could be a great addition to Pirates 6 if the writers can find a satisfying way to reintroduce him.

How Davy Jones Can Return For Pirates Of The Caribbean 6

Characters In The Pirates Universe Have Been Brought Back To Life Before

Davy Jones did die during At World’s End, but the Pirates movies have shown that death isn’t the end in this universe. Both Jack Sparrow and Barbossa were killed, only to be quickly resurrected so they could return in the sequels, and a similar thing could easily have happened to Davy Jones.

One possibility is that he was sentenced to the Locker by Calypso as he died, giving him the same opportunity to return that Jack had. Jones technically died while there was no one to ferry the souls of the ᴅᴇᴀᴅ, as Will hadn’t yet taken up the mantle, so his soul could be trapped somewhere, waiting to return and exact revenge.

Davy Jones Coming Back Is Better With Jack Sparrow

Both Of Them Returning Would Be The Best Scenario

If Jones were to come back for Pirates of the Caribbean 6, then it would make sense for his return to coincide with Jack Sparrow’s. While Jack has been in all five of the movies, the fourth and fifth installments weren’t very well-liked. Pirates 6 is likely going to try and recapture the feel of the original trilogy and mostly ignore what happened in the latter two.

Davy Jones and Jack Sparrow have a very intertwined history, and the events of their movies together only further connected the two. Thus, bringing them both back at the same time would make a lot of sense, even if only to make Pirates of the Caribbean 6 more appealing for audiences hoping to see that reunion.
