Ahsoka season 2 star Eman Esfandi has teased a new, post-exile look for Ezra Bridger. Now officially in production, Ahsoka season 2 will reunite viewers with former Jedi Ahsoka Tano, Mandalorian Jedi-in-training Sabine Wren, the once-exiled Jedi Ezra Bridger, General Hera Syndulla, and the leaders of the New Republic, as they scramble to deal with Grand Admiral Thrawn’s return.
In a tragic twist in the Ahsoka season 1 finale, Ezra swapped places with Ahsoka and Sabine, as he managed to escape on Grand Admiral Thrawn’s cobbled-together Star Destroyer. Now, Ahsoka, Sabine, and Jedi Order droid Huyang are trapped in Star Wars’ secondary galaxy with no obvious means of returning home.
After years of being isolated on Peridea, Ezra’s reunion with the remaining members of the Ghost Crew is much deserved. Clearly, though, he’s gearing up for another fight, as the new look Esfandi shared in an Instagram story, saved and shared by X user Mandoverse Updates, reveals that a slightly more groomed, battle-ready Ezra Bridger will appear in Ahsoka season 2.

It Makes Sense For Ezra To Smarten Up In Ahsoka Season 2
Ezra’s minor makeover isn’t all that surprising. He was stranded in the barren wilds of Peridea for years, avoiding Thrawn’s detection and surviving with no one but the Noti for company. No matter how positive he may have remained, that must have taken a toll on him.
It makes sense that he’d want to leave that part of his life behind, and cutting his hair is a physical representation of that desire. His new haircut is very reminiscent of what Ezra’s hair looked like in Star Wars Rebels seasons 1 and 2. All that’s missing is that noticeable blue sheen from the animated series.
Our Take On Eman Esfandi’s New Look
Eman Esfandi’s new Ezra look ties into a recurring Star Wars Rebels character moment. Between seasons 2 and 3, Ezra cropped his hair, representing his increased power as a Jedi and his uncertain relationship with the dark side. In Rebels season 4, Ezra’s Jedi Master, Kanan Jarrus, cut his hair, too, as he fully gave himself and his fate over to the Force.
Subsequently, in Ahsoka season 1, Sabine Wren cut her hair, too, just before she set out on her journey to find Ezra with Ahsoka. That scene recreated Kanan’s almost exactly. Though we may not get to see Ezra’s makeover moment in Ahsoka season 2 (we don’t really need to, after all), Eman Esfandi’s new Ezra Bridger haircut still feels like a significant step forward.
