The cast of Jurᴀssic World Rebirth has starred in a number of solid movies before joining the dinosaur franchise. The Jurᴀssic World Rebirth release comes just three years after 2022’s Jurᴀssic World Dominion closed out the original World trilogy, which followed the end of the original Jurᴀssic Park trilogy by 14 years.
Both previous trilogies had star-studded ensemble casts, with the Park movies featuring Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, Vince Vaughn, Julianne Moore, William H. Macy, and Téa Leoni. The Jurᴀssic World movies featured many of these legacy characters, though they also added stars including Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ted Levine, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Judy Greer.
Even though Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is a standalone sequel that doesn’t feature any legacy characters, its cast is similarly jam-packed with stars, including two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali, two-time Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson, and Emmy nominee Jonathan Bailey, the majority of whom have a number of memorable movies on their resumes.

Aristotle and Dante Discover The Secrets Of The Universe (2023)
Luna Blaise Plays An Important Role In The LGBTQ+ Coming-Of-Age Movie
Luna Blaise plays Teresa Delgado, the eldest daughter of the stranded Delgado family, in the new adventure movie. She is a young actor who held a limited number of roles before joining the Jurᴀssic World Rebirth cast, however one of her most notable previous projects was the 2023 movie Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.
Aristotle and Dante is an LGBTQ+ coming-of-age movie set in Texas in the late 1980s and based on Benjamin Alire Sáenz’s 2012 young adult novel of the same name.
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe was produced by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who had previously narrated the audiobook.
While the two romantic leads are Max Pelayo and Reese Gonzales as the тιтle characters Aristotle “Ari” Mendoza and Dante Quintana, Luna Blaise’s character Elena Tellez plays a potential love interest for Ari who is an instrumental character in his journey, making her a very important figure in the movie’s potent tale of teenage self-discovery.

Perfect Strangers (2018)
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo Plays A Man Caught In A Social Game Gone Wrong
Perfect Strangers (Perfectos Desconocidos), which was directed by Manolo Caro (the creator of Netflix’s House of Flowers), is a remake of the 2016 Italian movie of the same name (Perfetti sconosciuti) and follows a group of friends who play a game where they must read any phone messages they receive out loud during a dinner party, which stokes interpersonal tensions.
Between 2016 and 2024, Perfect Strangers was remade in 25 regions including Greece, Turkey, France, and South Korea, while remakes from Finland and Brazil are due by the end of 2025.
One of the core group of characters in the movie is Mario, as portrayed by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (who plays Teresa’s father Reuben Delgado in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth). His co-stars include Mariana Treviño, Bruno Bichir, Miguel Rodarte, and House of Flowers‘ Cecilia Suárez.
The Mexican movie brings the classic twists and turns of the original movie to life in a new way, drawing even more thrills and comedy from the premise via the application of a new cultural context and thus showcasing the reasons why the story has proven to be sturdy enough to support so many international reinterpretations.

Alita: Battle Angel (2019)
Mahershala Ali & Ed Skrein Play Manga Characters
Alita: Battle Angel is a special case because it features two different Jurᴀssic World Rebirth cast members, namely Mahershala Ali (who plays covert ops team leader Duncan Kincaid) and Ed Skrein (who plays security chief Bobby Atwater).
The movie, which was directed by Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids, From Dusk Till Dawn) and co-written by James Cameron (The Terminator, Avatar, тιтanic), is adapted from the manga series Battle Angel Alita. Taking place three centuries after a war nearly ended the world, the movie features Ali as criminal businessman Vector and Skrein as cyborg bounty hunter Zapan.
[Alita: Battle Angel] benefits from its star-studded cast…
While the movie had a mixed critical and commercial reception, it combines Rodriguez’s visual imagination with Cameron’s facility for plunging audiences into exciting new worlds, and it benefits from its star-studded cast, which also includes Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Michelle Rodriguez, Edward Norton, Jackie Earle Haley, Lana Condor, and Eiza González.

Wicked (2024)
Jonathan Bailey Plays A Prince Of Oz
Jonathan Bailey, who plays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, has already had a recent hit for Universal in the form of 2024’s Wicked. The movie is based on the first act of the stage musical, which in turn was based on the Gregory Maguire novel telling the origin story of the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz.
Bailey plays the dissolute prince Fiyero in the movie opposite Cynthia Erivo as the future Wicked Witch, Elphaba, and Ariana Grande as Glinda. Although Bailey delivers a memorable performance in his showcase musical number “Dancing Through Life,” the movie thrives even more on the strong performances of the two co-leads, as well as its elaborate, almost psychedelic, production design.

Companion (2025)
Rupert Friend Plays A Dangerous, Wealthy Man
Rupert Friend, who portrays pharmaceutical company representative Martin Krebs in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, has already appeared in a notable sci-fi movie this year, namely 2025’s Companion. In fact, the entire movie takes place on the grounds of an isolated compound owned by his rich and menacing character Sergey.
While Friend ultimately only plays a minor role in the movie, leads Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid carry the movie with layered performances. Companion also shines as a work of subtle sci-fi worldbuilding and design, as well as a satisfying thriller jam-packed with twists and turns.

Lost In Translation (2003)
Scarlett Johansson Plays A Traveler Yearning For Connection
One of the best movies starring Scarlett Johansson (who plays covert ops vet Zora Bennett in Jurᴀssic World Rebirth) is Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation, which stars the two-time Oscar nominee as a young woman who forges an unexpected bond with actor Bob Harris (Bill Murray) when they both find themselves in Tokyo for an indefinite time.
Scarlett Johansson was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Jojo Rabbit and Best Actress for Marriage Story in the same year, 2020.
Lost in Translation is remarkable for making a low-key human drama epic and unforgettable thanks to its exploration of the universal themes of alienation and longing for connection.
3
Her (2013)
Scarlett Johansson Plays An AI Operating System
One of Johansson’s other great movies prior to Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is the sci-fi romance Her, in which she voices the Siri-esque operating system Samantha, with whom Joaquin Phoenix’s lonely character Theodore Twombly falls in love.
Just like Companion, one of the most satisfying elements of Her is its depiction of a sci-fi world that is only slightly removed from the present day. However, the movie would not work without Johansson’s performance. She imbues Samantha with warmth and a compelling calmness that explains how Twombly would be so enraptured by a disembodied voice.
2
Pride & Prejudice (2005)
Rupert Friend Plays An Iconic Jane Austen Villain
One of Rupert Friend’s other great movies, 2005’s Pride & Prejudice, stands out among the wide variety of adaptations of the classic Jane Austen novel. He plays George Wickham, an obstacle who stands between Lizzy Bennet (Keira Knightley) and Mr. Darcy (Matthew Macfadyen) and is thus part of one of the most iconic love triangles in the history of romance.
The movie is notable for capturing the sweeping romance of Austen’s novel without sacrificing its sense of humor and biting satire. It also uses memorable impressionistic filmmaking tricks (like having a crowded dance floor suddenly empty except for Lizzy and Darcy) to irresistibly draw in the viewer.
1
Moonlight (2016)
Mahershala Ali Plays A Memorable Father Figure
Although Mahershala Ali had already delivered a few breakout performances in the Hunger Games movies and the Netflix series House of Cards, Moonlight provided the future Jurᴀssic World Rebirth star with one of his signature roles.
Ali portrayed drug dealer Juan in the LGBTQ+ coming-of-age drama. The character is central to the development of main character Chiron, and despite his brief screentime, Ali was tasked with creating a fatherly figure who would loom large over Chiron’s entire life.
His ability to deftly craft such a character is what resulted in Ali winning his first of two Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor. However, the Best Picture-winning movie contains much more than just Ali’s rightfully celebrated performance, as it is a showcase for a number of powerhouse actors, including Janelle Monáe, André Holland, and Naomie Harris.
Moonlight has three chapters that take place in different time periods, with Chiron being played at various ages by Alex Hibbert, Ashton Sanders, and Trevante Rhodes.
Writer-director Barry Jenkins also infuses the movie with an unforgettable visual sensibility in spite of its subtle subject matter, making it one of the best movies to feature a Jurᴀssic World Rebirth star.
