Netflix’s new fantasy film with a 97% Rotten Tomatoes score ends a Tyler Perry movie’s reign in updated streaming rankings. Written, directed, and produced by Perry, the Netflix film, Straw, stars Taraji P. Henson as a single mother caring for her chronically ill daughter who must deal with a series of unfortunate events that cause her to commit unthinkable crimes.

In addition to Henson in the lead role, Straw‘s cast also includes Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor, Sinbad, Rockmond Dunbar, Ashley Versher, Mike Merrill, and Glynn Turman. Since its release on June 6, Straw has been dominating the streaming service’s charts, finishing at No. 1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 movies for the first past three weeks.

Straw also scored the biggest week for a Netflix film in 2025, racking up an impressive 48.9 million views in its first week. This marked not only the biggest week for any Netflix film in 2025 so far, but also the best debut week for a new release this year. Now, Netflix has a new No. 1 movie this week.

KPop Demon Hunters ends Straw‘s reign as Netflix’s No. 1 movie in the latest streaming rankings. Netflix’s new animated musical follows a fictional K-pop girl group called Huntr/x, who lead double lives as demon hunters, as they face off against a rival band, the Saja Boys, whose members are secretly demons in disguise.

KPop Demon Hunters‘ voice cast includes Arden Cho, Ahn Hyo-seop, May Hong, Ji-young Yoo, Yunjin Kim, Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong, and Lee Byung-hun.

Now, following its release on June 20, the animated musical is Netflix’s new No. 1 movie. KPop Demon Hunters ranks first on Netflix’s Global Top 10 movies for the week of June 23–29 with 24.2 million views and 40.3 million hours viewed. It ranks above Trainwreck: Poop Cruise, Straw, The Intern, Land of Bad, 28 Weeks Later, The Fate of the Furious, Infinite, The Old Guard, and Sing.
