10 Most Powerful Marvel Heroes Missing From Avengers: Doomsday Who’d Be Perfect To Fight Doctor Doom

Although Avengers: Doomsday is already stacked with powerful MCU superheroes, several more have yet to be announced who would be particularly useful in the looming fight against Doctor Doom. Doom is no joke, after all, and while the likes of Thor could hold their own, they will invariably benefit from powerful backup.

It seems inevitable that Doctor Doom will be particularly powerful in Avengers: Doomsday, and may even emerge victorious as the MCU sets up Avengers: Secret Wars and God Emperor Doom. This would imitate the preceding MCU saga, as Avengers: Doomsday occupies a similar space to Avengers: Infinity War.

Having said that, the current lineup of superheroes is arguably the most powerful the MCU has ever seen. Sentry alone boasts a dizzying array of powers, the full extent of which has yet to be depicted on-screen. Whether he could tackle Doom solo remains to be seen, however.

Meanwhile, many Marvel superheroes could just as capably hold their own against the looming arch-villain of the Multiverse Saga. Many of these haven’t been revealed to be part of the Avengers: Doomsday cast, but those who have would certainly benefit from these characters being included in a second wave of Avengers: Doomsday cast announcements.

White Vision

Portrayed By Paul Bettany

White Vision debuted in WandaVision, where he was revealed to have the same litany of powers as his magically manifested counterpart. After being rebuilt, Vision was devoid of memories, though his hex-born counterpart restored them, ostensibly returning Vision to the MCU and setting him up for his solo series, Vision Quest.

Although he was nerfed in Avengers: Infinity War, Vision is one of the most powerful Avengers. His powers of flight and phasing are uniquely useful in their versatility, even though he now lacks the added power of the Mind Stone in his head.

9

Scarlet Witch

Portrayed By Elizabeth Olsen

Wanda Maximoff ostensibly died in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, though the validity of this fate is the topic of much debate. A conspicuous red flash at the moment Wanda collapses the Darkhold Castle upon herself leads many to believe that she was displaced, while others expect that she will be resurrected.

Agatha All Along repeatedly stressed that Wanda Maximoff is truly ᴅᴇᴀᴅ.

Should Wanda return to the MCU in time for Avengers: Doomsday, she would be uniquely well-placed to fight the magic-wielding Doctor Doom. At the peak of her power, Wanda was able to warp reality to such an extent that the full force of Earth-838’s Illuminati was no match, despite counting the world’s smartest man in their ranks.

8

Hulk

Portrayed By Mark Ruffalo

Hulk was arguably at his strongest in the Infinity Saga. Nevertheless, after being bested by Thanos at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War, the rage-fueled Savage Hulk persona was seemingly forever subdued, with Bruce Banner melding his mind with Hulk’s body to become Smart Hulk in Avengers: Endgame, an outcome that Bruce sees as the best of both worlds.

It’s unclear if Smart Hulk is quite as strong as Hulk, but Savage Hulk’s destructive capabilities would be particularly useful in overpowering Doctor Doom. If Savage Hulk does not reappear in the MCU, Bruce’s formidable mind would at least be useful in strategizing against the powerful magic-user.

7

Doctor Strange

Portrayed By Benedict Cumberbatch

Doctor Strange recently starred in his second solo movie, where he held his own against Wanda Maximoff at her most powerful, albeit using some shady methods. He was last seen venturing into another dimension with Charlize Theron’s Clea, who seems herself to be a powerful magic-user in the MCU.

Still, Strange’s mastery of the mystic arts puts him on an equal footing with Doom. Although Doom acquires the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme in Marvel Comics, Strange is traditionally the more potent sorcerer, which is likely to be the case in Avengers: Doomsday. Provided he is not otherwise occupied in another dimension, he would be an exceptionally valuable addition.

6

Steve Rogers

Portrayed By Chris Evans

Steve Rogers is ostensibly retired from the MCU as Avengers: Endgame saw him relinquish the Captain America mantle and his shield to Sam Wilson after living to old age with Peggy Carter. The fate of “Old Man Rogers” isn’t clear, though it is possible that Steve Rogers could return as a variant in Avengers: Doomsday.

As an expert strategist himself, Steve Rogers bolsters his brawn with brains that typically help to even the odds.

Steve Rogers isn’t especially powerful in the MCU, boasting a relatively simple array of super soldier powers. Nevertheless, comic book precedent dictates that he would fare well against Doctor Doom, matching Doom’s power and intelligence with his indomitable will. As an expert strategist himself, Steve Rogers bolsters his brawn with brains that typically help to even the odds.

5

G’iah

Portrayed By Emilia Clarke

Secret Invasion is one of the most maligned MCU installments, with plenty of MCU fans preferring to discount it entirely. Nevertheless, it debuted one of the most powerful characters in the MCU with the Super-Skrull, G’iah. The Skrull “invasion” hasn’t been addressed since Secret Invasion, but it’s safe to ᴀssume that G’iah is still present somewhere on Earth.

As a recipient of the Harvest, G’iah boasts an array of superpowers drawn from various MCU heroes and villains. Though she may not be as experienced in their use, the Avengers could certainly stand to have G’iah on board to double up on the powers already within their repertoire.

4

Captain Marvel

Portrayed By Brie Larson

Captain Marvel proved invaluable in the fight against Thanos, destroying his fleet and preventing him from causing another Snap. She was last seen reviving a dying star, one of Carol Danvers’ most powerful feats. She is presumably still acting as the foremost protector of the cosmos, meaning Doom’s activities in Avengers: Doomsday will surely attract her attention.

As she proved in Avengers: Infinity War, Danvers is capable of standing up to threats powerful enough to best the Hulk. While Doom’s use of sorcery may give her cause for concern, Captain Marvel continues to surpᴀss herself with her powers drawn from an Infinity Stone.

3

America Chavez

Portrayed By Xochitl Gomez

America Chavez debuted in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as a particularly unique hero. She reveals that she does not have any variants, with powers that allow her to traverse the multiverse involuntarily. By the end of that movie, she gains control of her powers and is additionally undergoing training at Kamar-Taj under Wong’s tutelage.

In Marvel Comics, America Chavez draws powers from the multiverse, though it is unclear if this will be adapted in future MCU appearances.

America Chavez would be uniquely useful in the fight against Doom. Avengers: Doomsday will presumably heavily feature the multiverse, with Doctor Doom himself likely to arrive from an alternate universe. Her ability to traverse universes helped her to beat the Scarlet Witch, while her new ventures with the mystic arts could help to counteract Doom’s own sorcery.

2

Wiccan

Portrayed By Joe Locke

Billy Maximoff was one of the main stars of Agatha All Along. Although he debuted as “Teen,” his true idenтιтy vindicated prevailing theories as he deployed his powerful magical abilities to control the minds of two powerful witches before subduing three. It was later revealed that he inadvertently manifested the entire Witches’ Road.

With that in mind, it appears Wiccan boasts the same reality-altering powers as his mother, Wanda. This is an exceptionally powerful ability that would be invaluable against the magic-wielding Doom. He was last seen guiding the soul of his brother to another body before embarking on a quest to find him, where Agatha’s guidance will presumably help him hone his powers.

1

Jean Grey

Portrayed By Famke Janssen

Although several actors from Fox’s X-Men franchise were confirmed to be starring in Avengers: Doomsday, Famke Janssen, who portrayed Jean Grey, was not among them. Although Jean Grey ostensibly died at the end of X-Men: The Last Stand, this death was seemingly retconned by the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Jean Grey is one of the most powerful members of the X-Men, especially when imbued with the power of the Phoenix Force. Her presence could significantly bolster the stars of Avengers: Doomsday, boasting a powerful array of psychic abilities that could even counteract Doom’s expertise in the mystic arts.
