Blumhouse’s New Horror Movie With 58% RT Score Getting More Sequels Depends On One Major Condition

M3GAN: 2.0 is the latest horror movie from Blumhouse, but getting more sequels depends on one major (but expected) condition. The original M3GAN revolves around an AI companion robot, designed by Gemma (Allison Williams) to protect her niece Cady (Violet McGraw), who famously goes on a murderous tear. The sequel premiered on June 27, 2025, and has audiences divided, earning a 58% on Rotten Tomatoes. Directed once again by Gerard Johnstone, M3GAN 2.0 sees Gemma bringing M3GAN back to defeat a military android, AMELIA, played by Ivanna Sakhno.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, producer James Wan teased what would need to happen for more M3GAN movies. As Wan explained, should M3GAN 2.0 perform “well enough,” more sequels could eventually be made. Read his comments below:

However, audiences have been enjoying M3GAN 2.0, as evidenced by the 85% Popcornmeter, and because the movie is a newer release, tracking that percentage should be key.
