James Gunn Addresses The Batman 2 Script Rumors By Revealing How Many People Know “Anything About Specifics”

As The Batman 2 rumors continue to float around, James Gunn shares a new report on the DC sequel. With Robert Pattinson’s Batman set to continue existing in his own separate universe apart from Gunn’s DC Universe franchise, fans are waiting eagerly to learn more details about The Batman 2. Following numerous delays of the highly anticipated sequel, which will be directed by The Batman director Matt Reeves, a long track of rumors has been following the next installment.

Gunn, who tends to keep fans updated through his social media accounts whenever inaccurate reports or rumors begin to gain traction on anything related to DC Studios, was recently asked by a fan if “the rumors surrounding the possible villains of The Batman Part II true? They say it could be Hush…” It didn’t take long for Gunn to address the latest The Batman 2 rumor, as he shared the following:

In his response, Gunn made it very clear that “There are only about 5 people who know anything about specifics of The Batman 2 script so any story or character leaks you’ve ever heard are false or a lucky guess.” According to Pattinson in a previous interview, filming on The Batman 2 is set to begin towards the end of 2025.

What James Gunn’s Comments Mean For The Batman 2

Gunn’s latest comments, are a perfect reminder that, given how popular the superhero movie genre is, rumors appearing about the project are always likely. This was recently shown when Gunn confirmed that The Batman 2 script was never meant to be handed in by Reeves on Memorial Day, as claimed in a popular rumor. Three of the five people in question that Gunn is likely referring to are Reeves, The Batman franchise producer Dylan Clark, and The Batman 2 co-writer Mattson Tomlin.

Not only has the story for The Batman 2 been something that has been worked on for quite some time, but Gunn has previously stated that a draft is expected to arrive sometime this month. With that being the case, it’s nearly impossible for there to be accurate rumors on what is actually going down in The Batman 2, as the people involved with the sequel are keeping details heavily under wraps. Unfortunately, this doesn’t prevent rumors cropping up, which is why Gunn’s debunking is always appreciated.

Our Take On James Gunn’s The Batman 2 Comments

Robert Pattinson in The Batman

Gunn’s latest The Batman 2 update will hopefully ensure fans have a more accurate perception of what is currently known about Reeves’ sequel. While it’s encouraging to see how much people care for The Batman universe and are excited about what could be on the horizon, the only actual updates about the project will likely be those formally announced by Reeves, Gunn or DC Studios. Hopefully, it won’t be too long until there are some official announcements about The Batman 2, including who the Caped Crusader will face next in his sequel.
