8 Fatalities I Can’t Wait To See In Mortal Kombat 2

The story of Mortal Kombat 2 will be very exciting, but I also can’t wait to see all the fatalities that are included in the highly anticipated sequel. Even though reviews for the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie were underwhelming, it did include some great fatalities. For example, Shang Tsung sucked Kung Lao’s soul out of his body and Scorpion blew fire out of his mouth in his fight against Sub-Zero at the end of 2021’s Mortal Kombat. These were both great moments, and I’m excited to see even more fatalities in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 2.

There will be many opportunities for graphic and gruesome fatalities in Mortal Kombat 2 since Earthrealm and Outworld will face off in an actual tournament. Many new characters will be introduced in Mortal Kombat 2, such as Quan Chi, Baraka, Kitana, and Shao Kahn, who will lead Outworld in the tournament and likely represent the realm in the movie’s final fight. With Earthrealm’s champions defending their realm in the high-stakes tournament against Outworld’s warriors, here are the eight fatalities I can’t wait to see in Mortal Kombat 2:

8

Shao Kahn’s “Back Blown Out” Fatality

Shao Kahn & His Hammer Are A Powerful Duo

An official image of Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat 2 has been released and shows off the Outworld emperor’s helmet and armor. Shao Kahn definitely looks very intimidating in the sequel, but the first-look image doesn’t include his iconic hammer, which he uses in his fights in the video games. While performing the “Back Blown Out” fatality, Shao Kahn knocks his opponent to the ground with some mighty swings of his hammer, then uses it to send their head flying through their back and into the air.

Since he will be overseeing the tournament, Shao Kahn likely won’t have many fights in Mortal Kombat 2. However, I’m hoping he gets a chance to show off his immense strength at some point in the movie. Based on early story details for the movie, it seems like the realm of Edenia will be featured in Mortal Kombat 2. Shao Kahn invades this realm in the games and kills King Jerrod, so perhaps this is when he could perform the “Back Blown Out” fatality in the movie.

7

Queen Sindel’s “Scream Queen” Fatality

Sindel’s Main Fatality Could Make Audiences Scream

Sindel Evil Revenant

During his invasion of Edenia, Shao Kahn will meet Sindel in Mortal Kombat 2. He will likely take her as his new queen, which means she will participate in the tournament and fight against Earthrealm. This could cause major problems for Earthrealm’s warriors, since Sindel’s “Scream Queen” fatality is horrifying. When performing this move, Sindel lets out a screeching scream that tears some of the skin off her opponent’s body. Eventually, her opponent’s body parts also get torn off from the power of her scream.

In some games, Sindel embraces her marriage to Shao Kahn and acts as an evil queen, but in other games she resents the Outworld emperor for killing her husband.

Sindel’s role in Mortal Kombat 2 should be especially interesting, since she could be portrayed as either a villain or a tragic figure who lost both her husband and her home. In some games, Sindel embraces her marriage to Shao Kahn and acts as an evil queen, but in other games she resents the Outworld emperor for killing her husband, King Jerrod. Therefore, it should be interesting to see who Sindel potentially performs her “Scream Queen” fatality against in Mortal Kombat 2.

6

Kitana’s “Fan Decapitation” Fatality

Kitana’s Fans Are ᴅᴇᴀᴅly

Kitana in Mortal Kombat 2.

Just like Sindel, Kitana will also be introduced during Shao Kahn’s invasion of Edenia. Kitana is the daughter of Sindel and becomes the stepdaughter of Shao Kahn. A first-look image of Kitana has already been released, and it features the Edenian princess holding both of her fans, which are her primary weapons in the Mortal Kombat video games. Using these fans, Kitana could perform her “Fan Decapitation” fatality in Mortal Kombat 2. As the name implies, when performing this move, Kitana cuts her opponent’s head off using her razor-sharp fans.

While Sindel’s role and motivations in Mortal Kombat 2 are hard to predict, there’s a strong chance that Kitana will turn against Outworld in the sequel. In the games, Kitana hates Shao Kahn for invading her home and killing her father. Therefore, she ends up becoming a hero and fighting for Earthrealm. Therefore, it’s possible that Kitana will perform her “Fan Decapitation” fatality against her fellow Outworld fighters in Mortal Kombat 2.

5

Baraka’s “Face Off” Fatality

Baraka Is One Of The Scariest Mortal Kombat Characters

Mortal Kombat 1's Baraka shows off his teeth during a cutscene.

While Kitana may betray Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat 2, Baraka will likely remain loyal to Outworld. In the sequel, Baraka will be one of Outworld’s best fighters, and could potentially use his brutal “Face Off” fatality against one of Earthrealm’s warriors. While performing this move, Baraka uses his claws to rip the face of his opponent off, revealing the flesh underneath. He then rips another layer of his opponent’s face off, before piercing their brain with his blade and pulling it out.

Baraka’s introduction in Mortal Kombat 2 is highly anticipated since he has one of the coolest character designs in the franchise. In the games, Baraka is a general of the Tarkatan Horde, who reside in the wastelands of Outworld. Since Baraka wants what’s best for his people, he will likely remain loyal to Outworld and fight for Shao Kahn in the tournament in Mortal Kombat 2. Therefore, Earthrealm’s champions need to be careful when fighting him to avoid his “Face Off” fatality.

4

Quan Chi’s “Leg Beat Down” Fatality

Quan Chi Doesn’t Use His Sorcery Powers For His Main Fatality

Shao Kahn will have many fighters, such as Baraka, representing him and Outworld in the Mortal Kombat tournament. However, Quan Chi will provide him with even more fighters, as he will revive many characters who died in the first film. Because of Quan Chi’s sorcery, characters like Sub-Zero, Kano, Mileena, and Goro will likely return to fight Earthrealm in Mortal Kombat 2. However, Quan Chi may also take part in the tournament in the sequel.

Since Quan Chi is a sorcerer with a lot of magical abilities, it’s surprising that one of his main fatalities is so simple.

If Quan Chi does participate in the tournament, it would be great to see his “Leg Beat Down” fatality in Mortal Kombat 2. Since Quan Chi is a sorcerer with a lot of magical abilities, it’s surprising that one of his main fatalities is so simple. When performing this move, Quan Chi simply rips a leg off his opponent then beats them to death with it. This isn’t one of the flashier Mortal Kombat fatalities, but it has become iconic because of how long it lasts.

3

Noob Saibot’s “Make A Wish” Fatality

Bi-Han Will Be Turned Into Noob Saibot In Mortal Kombat 2

Mortal Kombat Noob Saibot holding his weapon behind his back

It has been confirmed that Quan Chi will revive Bi-Han/Sub-Zero as Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat 2. Since Noob Saibot is a different character than Sub-Zero, he has some different moves. One of these new moves is the “Make A Wish” fatality. When performing this move, Noob Saibot summons a shadow clone of himself, then uses its help to rip his opponent in half. This move is gruesome, and also shows off Noob Saibot’s new abilities as a shadow ninja.

After playing Sub-Zero in the first film, actor Lewis Tan will appear once again in Mortal Kombat 2 to portray Noob Saibot. Tan already proved that he can play a terrifying villain in the first film, so Noob Saibot will definitely be an intimidating character in the sequel. It is unknown whether other characters will find out that Noob Saibot is actually Bi-Han in Mortal Kombat 2. However, if they do, the sequel could include yet another rematch between Scopion and Sub-Zero.

2

Johnny Cage’s “Split Punch” Fatality

Johnny Cage Gets Up Close & Personal With His Fatality

Karl Urban as Johnny Cage standing in front of Sonya and Jax in Mortal Kombat 2.

Out of all the characters being introduced in Mortal Kombat 2, a lot of fans are most excited for Johnny Cage. In the sequel movie, Johnny Cage will be a cocky Hollywood actor who becomes a valuable fighter for Earthrealm. While fighting in the Mortal Kombat tournament, it would be great to see Johnny Cage’s “Split Punch” fatality. To perform this move, Johnny Cage does the splits then punches his opponent continuously in the groin. He also usually flexes or does a funny pose afterward, showing how cocky he can be.

Earthrealm’s champions might not look Johnny Cage at the beginning of Mortal Kombat 2, but they will likely grow a lot closer by the end of the film. Throughout the tournament, Johnny Cage will prove that he is a skilled fighter and is loyal to Earthrealm. Since they have somewhat similar personalities, I really hope Mortal Kombat 2 includes a fight between Johnny Cage and Kano. In fact, Kano would be the perfect character for Johnny Cage to perform his “Split Punch” fatality on in the movie.

1

Raiden’s “Electric Decapitation” Fatality

Raiden Is One Of The Most Powerful Mortal Kombat Characters

Just like Liu Kang, Raiden had a surprisingly small role in the 2021 film. He is undoubtedly an important character in the story, but it’s a shame he didn’t participate in a lot of the fights in the first movie. Therefore, I hope Raiden can more properly show off his abilities in Mortal Kombat 2. In the sequel, Raiden could perform his “Electric Decapitation” fatality. While doing this move, Raiden uses his powers to summon lightning and explode his opponent’s head.

Since Raiden is one of the most powerful characters in the movie franchise, he could fight major villains such as Shao Kahn, Quan Chi, or Shang Tsung in the upcoming sequel. In Mortal Kombat 2, Raiden should help the other Earthrealm fighters to give them a better chance at winning the tournament. Therefore, I hope Mortal Kombat 2 utilizes Raiden more than the first film did, and it would be great to see his “Electric Decapitation” fatality.
