What Masters Of The Universe’s Latest Filming Update Means For The Movie
Despite A Reworked Origin, Galitzine’s Adam Is Incredibly Faithful
While confirmation that filming has wrapped is already a major update, the new image of Galitzine in his complete He-Man costume is also an exciting development for the movie. When compared to past adaptations, the upcoming feature will reportedly instead see Adam exiled as a child to Earth, exploring how he reconnected to his Eternian heritage and rejoined the fight against Skeletor (Jared Leto). As such, leaked set pH๏τos saw Galitzine as Adam dressed in a modern reinterpretation of his pink tunic and white shirt to fit the contemporary Earth setting.
Other teasers and CinemaCon preview write-ups had set up promises of highly accurate costumes that perfectly capture the classic designs of the toyline, but the new image of Galitzine in costume is the best glimpse yet of the character. While most of him is cast in a shadow, the actor’s silhouette not only offers a new official glimpse at the Power Sword, but reveals that all of He-Man’s armor is incredibly close to the original toy. Though the chest-piece’s emblem still remains unseen, it is highly likely that it will be just as faithful as the rest of the armor.
Our Thoughts On Masters Of The Universe’s He-Man Costume Reveal
Knight Is Faithfully Capturing The Character’s Iconography
While Adam being placed on Earth is a departure from most depictions of the Masters of the Universe franchise, there is still plenty of promise surrounding the upcoming movie. Alongside the success of Barbie and Knight’s successful reimagining of Transformers with Bumblebee, it is clear that the upcoming movie is fully embracing the series’ iconography, no matter how outlandish. Because of this, not only will moviegoers be eager to see He-Man’s complete character reveal, but their first glimpses at Eternia’s other heroes and villains.
