New Disney Pixar Movie Debuts With Solid Rotten Tomatoes Score – But Where Does It Rank Among The Classics?

Pixar is a renowned animation studio known for revolutionizing animated movies with groundbreaking technology, along with stories that blend humor and emotion for young audiences and adults. The first Pixar movie was Toy Story in 1995, the first fully computer-animated feature. The studio followed that up by creating more animated classics like A Bug’s Life, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and Cars. After being acquired by Disney in 2006, Pixar continued producing hits, such as Ratatouille, WALL-E, Up, Inside Out, and many more.

However, in recent years, Pixar has experienced a series of disappointments. After Onward underperformed at the box office due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Soul, Luca, and Turning Red were all sent straight to streaming on Disney+. Lightyear was the first Pixar movie to be released in theaters since Onward, and became a big box-office bomb. However, after Elemental became a sleeper hit, Inside Out 2 went on to become the highest-grossing animated movie of all time. Now, Pixar is looking to keep that momentum going with its next movie.
