6 Marvel Teams That Will Appear In Avengers: Doomsday, Ranked By Power

Avengers: Doomsday will be one of the biggest events in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and because of that, the movies will include a few powerful teams. When Avengers: Doomsday‘s cast was announced, there were both shocking additions and some concerning absences. While the likes of many players from Fox’s original X-Men were revealed to be coming back for the upcoming Avengers movie, some notable MCU players, such as Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America, were missing from the fun.

Well, it turns out that Marvel did not announce all the characters who will be in the movie, which was made clear when Kevin Feige revealed Avengers: Doomsday‘s superhero teams and teased that more names would be added to the movie’s cast, with the MCU keeping a few surprises for now. To take on Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom and whatever multiverse threats rise in Avengers: Doomsday, a few powerful teams will come together, but there is a difference in their power levels.

The Wakandans

The MCU’s New Black Panther Leads The Charge

For the time being, there are only two Wakandans revealed to be part of Avengers: Doomsday‘s cast. Those are Leтιтia Wright’s Shuri, aka the MCU’s new Black Panther, and Winston Duke’s M’Baku, who is seemingly the new King of Wakanda. More Wakandan characters could show up in the film, such as Danai Gurira’s Okoye, Lupita Nyongo’s Nakia, or T’Challa’s son.

However, as it currently stands, the Wakandans are the weakest confirmed team for Avengers: Doomsday. Between Shuri and M’Baku, the MCU’s Black Panther is easily the most powerful of the two. She got the same kind of powers that her brother, T’Challa, did now that Shuri consumed a synthetic version of the Heart-Shaped Herb. Shuri also managed to defeat Namor in combat.

While that should lead to the Wakandans having an important role in Avengers: Doomsday, the team is simply not on the same level as the rest.

As for M’Baku, he is a capable fighter who now has a different kind of power in his more political position. While that should lead to the Wakandans having an important role in Avengers: Doomsday, the team is simply not on the same level as the rest. All other teams have characters with more formidable powers.

The Talokanil

An MCU Movie Has Already Shown The Team’s Destructive Power

Right after the Wakandans have to be the Talokanil. The two kingdoms are linked in the MCU, thanks to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Besides dealing with the untimely pᴀssing of T’Challa and Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman, the MCU movie set up Shuri’s story as the franchise’s new Black Panther with an impressive threat in the form of the Talokanil.

At the moment, Tenoch Huerta Mejia’s Namor is the only character from Talokan announced as part of Avengers: Doomsday‘s cast. However, two other Marvel players who debuted in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever should be right by his side. That is because Mabel Cadena, who plays Namora, and Alex Livinalli, who gives life to Attuma, have been spotted with Namor actor Tenoch Huerta and other Avengers: Doomsday cast members.

The Black Panther sequel showed the full might of the Talokanil. They had better endurance than the Wakandans, were stronger, and could breathe underwater. Namor’s powers extended to flight, a healing factor, and more. While Shuri ended up defeating him, had it not been for a well-placed jet, she would have died.

The New Avengers

The Former Thunderbolts Have A Powerhouse

Thunderbolts* is the MCU’s latest 2025 movie. At the very end, it is revealed that the film’s talked-about asterisk was hiding a name change. The Thunderbolts have officially become the MCU’s New Avengers, which has led to some legal conflicts between the team and Captain America’s Avengers. Thunderbolts* served as a great showcase of the team’s power levels.

As it stands, half of the team is made up of super-soldiers. Red Guardian is an aging hero who got an off-brand Russian version of the serum that gave Steve Rogers his powers. John Walker took a new version of the serum, perhaps becoming the closest in power level to the MCU’s Captain America. Finally, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes took HYDRA’s super-soldier serum.

As Sentry, Bob is basically DC’s Superman and takes out the Thunderbolts with ease. As the Void, the character can send people into a shadow realm where they relive their darkest moments.

Bucky has many years of experience as both an elite ᴀssᴀssin and a hero under his belt. The rest of the team consists of Yelena Belova, who is a Black Widow and has the same skills as Scarlett Johansson’s, Ghost, whose main power is intangibility, and Bob. If he turns into Sentry or the Void, he becomes Avengers: Doomsday‘s most powerful character, but Bob plans not to use his powers for now, which leads to the team’s placement.

The Fantastic Four

The MCU’s Next Superhero Team To Debut

The Fantastic Four is the hardest team to judge on the list since it has yet to debut in the MCU. However, there have been multiple live-action iterations of the heroes to go off, and the trailers for The Fantastic Four: First Steps show that Marvel Studios’ new superhero team will have to be quite powerful.

Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards and the rest of the Fantastic Four will have to go up against Galactus and the Silver Surfer in the movie. Just the fact that they live to see another day after facing the world-devouring cosmic being shows the power level of the team. Add in their classic traits, and the Fantastic Four are formidable.

Mister Fantastic is a genius with elastic powers. The Thing is a walking pile of rocks that can fight the Hulk and stand his ground. The Human Torch can fly, conjure flames at will, and can burn like a supernova. Finally, the Invisible Woman can become invisible, project force fields, and more. Franklin Richards, Reed and Sue’s son, can rewrite reality as he wishes, but he is a baby for now.

Sam Wilson’s Avengers

The Main Avengers Team Of The Multiverse Saga

While the Thunderbolts became the MCU’s New Avengers at the end of their movie, Thunderbolts*‘s post-credits scene made it a point to confirm that Sam Wilson does not like it. At the end of Captain America: Brave New World, the hero sets out to start a new Avengers team, recruiting Joaquin Torres, aka the Falcon, to join him.

At the moment, Marvel has yet to confirm which MCU heroes will be part of Captain America’s team in Avengers: Doomsday. That said, the cast of the next Avengers movie includes quite a few powerful characters who could be part of the new Avengers team. One of those is Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, the God of Thunder, who killed Thanos and was part of the original Avengers.

Other characters who make sense for the new Avengers team out of the movie’s announced heroes are Ant-Man, Black Panther, Shang-Chi, Loki, and more. If even a couple of those join Thor, Captain America, and the Falcon, then the team will be immensely powerful.

Original X-Men

Fox’s Biggest Superhero Team Could Shake Up The MCU

Finally, I’m convinced that Fox’s original X-Men are the most powerful confirmed team for Avengers: Doomsday. Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier is the most talented telepath in live-action Marvel movies. He could even take out the Sentry through that, based on Bob’s many traumas. Then there is the other major X-Men character, Ian McKellen’s Magneto.

Magneto’s powers have been spotlighted several times in the X-Men movies. The Master of Magnetism can bend metal to his will and could cause catastrophic events through his powers that would leave the Earth destroyed. That could come in handy with incursions coming to Avengers: Doomsday. That said, the X-Men are more than its two most powerful confirmed mutants.

James Marsden’s Cyclops is incredibly powerful, especially if there are no restrictions to his optic blasts. Mystique is a master shape-shifter that can infiltrate anywhere she wants to go. Beast is incredibly smart and agile. Gambit has no qualms about killing and explodes objects with kinetic energy. If characters like Storm, Jean Grey, Wolverine, ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool, and more join the X-Men, then they will undoubtedly be Avengers: Doomsday‘s most powerful team.
