“I Don’t Think He’s Evil”: Galactus’ MCU Actor Explains Why His Marvel Villain Isn’t Evil With The Last Comparison You Could Possibly Expect

The Fantastic Four: First Steps star Ralph Ineson opens up about his perspective on Galactus in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase 6 will finally see one of the most iconic Marvel Comics foes join the MCU timeline, with Galactus making his debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps this summer. Fans have been waiting for years to get a comic book-accurate version of Galactus in live-action, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps film will be the film to accomplish just that after a long wait.

In the latest issue of Empire Magazine, Ineson spoke about bringing Galactus to the MCU through The Fantastic Four: First Steps. While explaining whether or not he sees Galactus as a villain, Ineson made a very interesting comparison between his MCU character and his character in the U.K.’s The Office, as he shared the following:

The concepts of bad and good are not really relevant to someone like him… He’s a cosmic force. He’s a god, of sorts… I don’t think Galactus is evil… but Finchy’s a proper c**t.

What Ralph Ineson’s Galactus Comments Mean For The Fantastic Four: First Steps

With a complex character like Galactus, it’s not a surprise that, from the character’s point of view, he wouldn’t see himself as an actual force of evil. One of the biggest concepts about villains – including someone like The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Galactus – is that, in most cases, they don’t see their actions as bad.

That mindset can be for many reasons, ranging from them being so delusional that they don’t understand the significance of their actions, or, as Ineson suggests is the case for Galactus, because they don’t have a perception of good or evil for whatever reason.

Whether or not The Fantastic Four: First Steps movie will explore Galactus’ own perspective on him consuming worlds one after another remains to be seen. Indeed, this may not need to be delved into, given the focus will instead be on Marvel’s First Family trying to prevent their home world from being destroyed. That said, given that The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ leading heroes are set to return for Avengers: Doomsday, there is a strong chance that Galactus actually succeeds if they are now meant to be showing up on Earth-616 soon.

Our Take On Ralph Ineson’s Galactus Comments

Galactus standing tall in Marvel Comics' Cataclysm

It’s interesting to hear Ineson’s commentary on how he looks at Galactus, and potentially how the character thinks of himself, as this makes his story in The Fantastic Four: First Steps seem more potentially engrossing. This is also set to make seeing how Marvel’s First Family deals with Galactus all the more compelling, since it underlines how they’re not up against a conventional supervillain, but rather a force of nature of sorts. With only a month left to go before The Fantastic Four: First Steps opens in theaters, fans will get to see how Galactus’ MCU debut unfolds soon enough.
