Two Halloweentown stars are poised to reunite for a new movie about Halloween. The first Halloweentown movie premiered on Disney Channel in 1998 and focused on Kimberly J. Brown’s Marnie Piper, as she learned that her family, the Cromwells, were secretly magical. After discovering her nature, she visits Halloweentown, where she encounters ghosts, witches, and more supernatural creatures. In the second movie, she encounters Kal (Daniel Kountz), the son of the evil warlock Kalabar. Though they played enemies in the four-film franchise, Brown and Kountz fell in love and eventually married.
Now, Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz will be reuniting onscreen decades after the Halloweentown franchise concluded. On her official TikTok account, Brown released a video that details their next major acting project with a fun skit. Check out the post below:

The skit sees a group of actors from Hallmark’s Haul Out the Holly movie series, as they welcome their neighbors, real-life spouses Brown and Kountz. According to a report by E! News, the movie will be called Haul Out the Halloween and will see Brown and Kountz returning to their Halloween roots by celebrating the holiday onscreen.
What This Means For The Halloweentown Stars
This Is Not A Halloweentown Movie
As exciting as it is to see Brown and Kountz returning to a Halloween-focused movie, it is important to remember that this is not a Halloweentown movie. The Haul Out the Holly series focuses on a realistic portrayal of holidays, as Lacey Chabert’s Emily encounters an HOA that demands an all-out celebration. There are no witches, no ghouls, and no Santa Claus in this franchise to entertain viewers, so Brown will not be playing the magical Marnie. Instead, their casting is simply meant to honor the Halloweentown legacy.
This upcoming Hallmark movie will offer them an opportunity to reconnect with viewers after a relatively quiet decade.
Even despite lacking any true connection to Halloweentown, the decision to cast Brown and Kountz is rewarding. Aside from a recurring role in General Hospital, Brown has not had the chance to star in any major Hollywood productions since her work on Halloweentown ended in 2004. Kountz, meanwhile, has generally only appeared in short films and has taken an extended break from Hollywood otherwise. This upcoming Hallmark movie will offer them an opportunity to reconnect with viewers after a relatively quiet decade, which is exciting in its own right.
Our Take On The Halloweentown Reunion
This Is A Touching Concept
Just as this is not a true Halloweentown reunion, it is also not an actual reunion for the actors since they are married. This will, however, be a chance for them to show the world how the years have treated them, and it will enable them to prove that Hollywood offers its actors the opportunity to find love too. Haul Out the Halloween is a fun concept and could easily be one of the more unique Hallmark movies.
