“They’re Trying To Work Out What It Would All Look Like”: Pirates of The Caribbean 6 Return With Johnny Depp & Keira Knightley Addressed By Orlando Bloom

Orlando Bloom discussed the possibility of returning for Pirates of the Caribbean 6 with Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley. Depp has played Jack Sparrow in every Pirates of the Caribbean movie and is generally regarded as the face of the franchise. Meanwhile, Bloom and Knightley had main roles in the first three films, then only minor roles in 2017’s ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Men Tell No Tales. Knightley actually doesn’t even speak in her brief cameo in the fifth film. Heading towards Pirates 6, it’s currently unknown if any of them will appear in the movie.

However, Bloom recently revealed that he would love to return for Pirates of the Caribbean 6 on the talk show This Morning. In the interview, the actor revealed that there have been discussions about bringing himself, Depp, and Knightley back for the series’ sixth film. He claimed that the producers are trying to figure out a way to bring them all back, but admitted that there are also different ideas for Pirates of the Caribbean 6. Read his comments and watch the full interview below:

There’s been all kinds of things. Who knows? There’s been talk. I can’t say anything at the moment, because I really don’t know. They’re definitely… I think they’re trying to work out what it would all look like. I, personally, think it would be great to get the band back together. That would be great. But there are always different ideas, so we’ll see where it lands.

What Orlando Bloom’s Comments Mean For Pirates Of The Caribbean 6

Two Versions Of Pirates 6 Are Being Written

At this time, not many details are known about the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean 6. The movie has unfortunately been stuck in developmental hell ever since the release of the fifth film in 2017. ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Men Tell No Tales is the lowest-rated and was the second lowest-earning movie of the entire franchise at the box office, so Pirates of the Caribbean 6 definitely needs to be a major comeback film for the series. An easy way to get people excited for the sixth movie would be to include Depp, Bloom, and Knightley.

According to franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer, two scripts for Pirates of the Caribbean 6 are currently being worked on. Apparently, one of these scripts includes Depp back as Jack Sparrow, while the other doesn’t and would seemingly be a full or soft reboot for the franchise. For a long time, it was believed that Depp would never return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise because of his offscreen controversies. However, Bloom and Bruckheimer’s comments suggest that there is still a chance.

Our Take On Orlando Bloom’s Comments About Pirates Of The Caribbean 6

If Depp, Bloom, & Knightley Return, Pirates 6 Could Be One Of The Series’ Best Movies

Orlando Bloom as Will Turner in Disney Pirates of the Caribbean

If Depp, Bloom, and Knightley all return for Pirates 6, it would allow the film to address the post-credits scene of ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Men Tell No Tales, which hinted at the return of Davy Jones, the franchise’s most popular villain. This would be very exciting, and could potentially make for an epic conclusion to the long-running series. However, if they all can’t return, it might be best to make Pirates of the Caribbean 6 a full or soft reboot, and try to focus on new characters rather than rely on the love fans have for Depp, Bloom, and Knightley’s characters.
