Two Major Sopranos Stars Are Reuniting For New Hallmark Movie

The Sopranos cast continues to be one of the greatest ever ᴀssembled on television, with stars continually popping up in other projects. Widely regarded as one of the best TV shows of all time, the HBO series centers on Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini), a North Jersey mobster struggling with panic attacks who hesitantly starts therapy with Dr. Melfi (Lorraine Bracco). Key figures in the story also include his family and fellow mobsters, especially his wife Carmela (Edie Falco), two children Meadow (Jamie-Lynn Sigler) and A.J. (Robert Iler), and his ambitious cousin and protégé, Christopher Moltisanti (Michael Imperioli).

The Sopranos cast was a mᴀssive ensemble led by the late great James Gandolfini, who received six Emmy nominations and won three for his portrayal of Tony Soprano. His Mafia colleagues include the late Tony Sirico as the loyal yet volatile Paulie “Walnuts” Gualtieri, Steven Van Zandt as Tony’s consigliere Silvio Dante, and Vincent Pastore as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero. The cast’s chemistry and performances were widely praised, contributing significantly to the show’s critical acclaim and its multiple Emmy wins across various categories.

Two Major Sopranos Stars Are Reuniting For Hallmark’s Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story

It’s Hallmark’s Second Holiday Touchdown Installment

Two major stars from The Sopranos are reuniting for Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story. As the second installment in Hallmark’s Holiday Touchdown series after 2024’s A Chiefs Love Story, the upcoming film follows a pediatrician, Morgan, and the Buffalo Bills’ VP of stadium development, Gabe, who are lifelong friends and come from close-knit Buffalo families with a deep pᴀssion for the Bills. The cast already includes Holland Roden, Matthew Daddario, Tracy Pollan, Caroline Aaron, and Patti Muri.

Now, according to Entertainment Weekly, The Sopranos stars Joe Pantoliano and Steve Schirrpa are reuniting in Hallmark’s Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story. Pantoliano is replacing Tony Danza, who was previously cast but pulled out due to a “last-minute scheduling conflict.” Schirrpa is set to play a relative of either Morgan or Gabe, while Pantoliano will take on the role of Morgan’s Uncle Tommy, who, each Christmas, receives a generous gift from an anonymous source.

To surprise Tommy, Morgan and Gabe join forces to uncover the idenтιтy of the mysterious donor, and, as expected, the duo will come to realize their feelings for one another during their festive adventure. According to the official synopsis, “Gabe takes matters into his own hands, leveraging his ties to the Bills to create an unforgettable surprise for Morgan and both their families, making this a Christmas to remember.”

Our Take On Joe Pantoliano & Steve Schirrpa Reuniting In A Hallmark Movie

They Played Vastly Different Characters In The Sopranos

The Sopranos stars played vastly different characters on the HBO mob drama. Joe Pantoliano’s Ralphie Cifaretto was a wholly despicable character, while Steve Schirrpa’s soft-hearted Bobby Bacala was one of the show’s most gentle and family-oriented mobsters. It will be interesting to see how these two actors, who played vastly different characters on The Sopranos, translate to a Hallmark holiday romance and the cozy and heartwarming tone they are known for.
