Mᴀssive Disaster In Godzilla X Kong: Supernova Teased In Set Footage

Godzilla x Kong: Supernova set footage teases a mᴀssive disaster. Directed by Grant Sputore, with a script written by David Callaham and Michael Lloyd Green, the sixth film in the Monsterverse franchise finds the two тιтular тιтans facing off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat. Godzilla x Kong: Supernova‘s cast includes Dan Stevens reprising his role as Trapper alongside several new characters played by Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, Matthew Modine, Delroy Lindo, Alycia Debnam-Carey, and Sam Neill.

Now, shortly after production began earlier this month, the first set footage from Godzilla x Kong: Supernova has surfaced via Couriermail on TikTok. According to the report, filming is taking place in Brisbane, Australia, doubling for London, where William Street in the CBD was dramatically converted into a chaotic, fire-ravaged set. Filming has been ongoing for three days, and the footage captures an intense London-style crash scene complete with tanks, fire engines, British police vehicles, and around 50 extras dashing through the mayhem.

Lead actor Dan Stevens was seen performing a high-intensity sequence, leaping from a fire truck amid military figures just outside the Star Casino. Click the link below to watch the set footage:

What The Godzilla X Kong: Supernova Set Footage Means For The Movie

Everything That Was Revealed

The set footage doesn’t reveal much about Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, though it does reveal that filming is once again taking place in Brisbane, Queensland, which has become quite a popular filming destination for the Monsterverse franchise, with earlier movies such as Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Kong: Skull Island also sH๏τ in the state. While plot details for the upcoming Monsterverse movie are being kept under wraps, the set footage does at least confirm that it will be partially set in London.

Our Take On The Godzilla X Kong: Supernova Set Footage

Is This The “Supernova”?

After Godzilla x Kong: Supernova‘s тιтle was announced, it sparked speculation that the Monsterverse movie could be headed to space, since a supernova is an exploding star, and that SpaceGodzilla could also be introduced, which was created from the energy of a star. The set footage doesn’t reveal any indication of heading to space, but it does show fiery chaos on the streets of London, which could be the supernova the тιтle refers to.

If this fiery London scene is any indication, Godzilla x Kong: Supernova promises a grounded but explosive clash. Whether the “supernova” is cosmic or metaphorical, one thing is clear: more destruction is coming. Fans should brace for a globe-spanning battle with stakes higher than ever before in the Monsterverse.

Godzilla x Kong: Supernova is scheduled to be released on March 26, 2027.
