The John Wick franchise’s Ballerina has won the approval of Tom Cruise, whose movie Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is coming out in movie theaters next week. Meanwhile, Ballerina tells the story of Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas), an orphaned girl who is taken in by the Ruska Roma of New York and trained as a ballet dancer and an ᴀssᴀssin. As a young woman, she takes matters into her own hands and goes on a quest for revenge. With Mission: Impossible slated for May 23, Ballerina for June 6, and F1 for June 27, it is shaping up to be a summer of great action movies.
While at a Mission: Impossible event, Tom Cruise commented on the “fun summer” that is coming, and when asked about Ballerina, said that he had seen it and loved it (via X). Specifically, Cruise said: “I saw the movie [Ballerina], it just kicks a** … it’s right in that tone, it’s right in that Wick world, you’re gonna love it.” In addition to good box office projections for Ballerina, this affirmation signals that it is potentially going to be a huge summer blockbuster.

What This Means For Ballerina
Ballerina Is On The Right Track To Succeed John Wick
While he may not strictly be a movie critic, Tom Cruise is a seasoned action star and can comment upon what Ballerina is doing right in its genre. He also pᴀssingly highlights that there is going to be some compeтιтion between action movies this summer, but they are all coming out a few weeks apart from each other, and hopefully, audiences will enjoy similar but equally entertaining тιтles coming out one after another.
Most importantly, Cruise confirms that Ballerina is exactly what is needed for a John Wick spinoff, in that it maintains the tone, “it’s right in that Wick world.” A chance to reveal different parts of this setting is an advantage of the spinoff, and knowing that it retains its predecessor’s style is reᴀssuring. For it to be truly successful, the new main character with her own story will also have to be compelling, which seems likely when the role has been entrusted to a talented star like Ana de Armas.
Our Take On Tom Cruise’s Ballerina Review
Everything Is Adding Up To Make Ballerina A Huge New Movie
Tom Cruise, an icon in the action genre, directing more positive attention to Ballerina is another piece in the building hype for this movie. The lead-up to the John Wick spinoff is hopefully playing off the excitement for the Mission: Impossible movie as the stars involved with each franchise support each other. In general, every piece of positive press ᴀssociated with Ballerina ᴀssures us more and more that this movie will be a worthy continuation of John Wick, making me even more excited to finally see it next month.
