ScreenRant reveals a new image for the upcoming horror movie Bring Her Back. The film is directed by Danny and Michael Philippou, the brother-director duo behind the film Talk to Me. The upcoming supernatural horror movie is about a group of kids who are taken in by a foster mother, Laura (Sally Hawkins), only to find out that she will make them participate in a terrifying ritual. Bring Her Back features Hawkins, Billy Barratt, Mischa Heywood, Jonah Wren Phillips, Stephen Phillips, and Sally-Anne Upton. It is set for release on May 30.
As part of the Exclusive Summer 2025 Movie Preview, ScreenRant exclusively reveals a new image from Bring Her Back, depicting a solo sH๏τ of Hawkins. In a dimly lit scene, Laura sits alone at the edge of a bathtub. Her hair looks messy, and she is wearing striped pajamas. The nature of her expression is kept somewhat vague, but the character looks exhausted. Check out the image below:
What This Means For Bring Her Back
Laura Has Nefarious Plans
The Bring Her Back trailer looked terrifying, hinting at the horrors to come in Hawkins’ suspicious foster home. The trailer made ample use of images related to water, regularly cutting into Laura’s backyard swimming pool. It also included an image of one of the children, Oliver, taking a bath with ᴀssistance from Laura. The bath in the most recent image appears to be the same as in the trailer, though this time, Oliver is not in the frame.
Whatever the context may be for this Bring Her Back image, it is clear that something is making Laura exhausted. This may be related to whatever ritual she is putting her foster children through, as past footage suggests that it might be something intense. Perhaps her tired expression could also be some indicator of regret for committing the film’s more nefarious acts, although there is nothing that directly clarifies the character’s internal state.
Our Take On The Bring Her Back Image
This Movie Lives And Dies By Sally Hawkins
Bring Her Back‘s success is really going to hinge on Hawkins. The image further proves that the character will have to exhibit a wide range of emotions, from distress, to love, to exhaustion and more. She is surrounded by some promising child performers, but as the main adult lead, she will really have to deliver. Both the early trailers and this image suggest a strong, dynamic performance from Hawkins, building the anticipation for Bring Her Back.
