Where Was Another Simple Favor Filmed? Sequel’s Filming Locations Explained

Another Simple Favor takes viewers away from Warfield, Connecticut and on a trip to the beautiful island of Capri, Italy. This change of location differentiates Another Simple Favor from the first movie, which was released in 2018. In addition to this major location change, Another Simple Favor includes many twists that try to recapture the magic of the original film, which was both a critical and commercial success. Unfortunately, reviews for Another Simple Favor have been quite mixed, with Screen Rant’s own Mae Abdulbaki giving it a score of 6 out of 10.

While Another Simple Favor’s story is quite absurd and far too silly at times, the sequel at least includes many breathtaking locations. In the follow-up film, Emily is out of prison and invites Stephanie to her wedding in Capri. While on the Italian island, people quickly start getting murdered, which means that Stephanie must solve yet another mystery. The long-awaited sequel takes viewers to some of the most beautiful destinations in the world, so here are all the filming locations for Another Simple Favor.

Toronto, Canada

Warfield Was The Main Setting Of A Simple Favor

Before Another Simple Favor’s characters travel to Italy, they are in Warfield, Connecticut, which was the primary setting of the first film. Like many major productions, Another Simple favor uses Toronto as a stand-in for the fictional American city. Most of the urban sH๏τs that are seen at the beginning of the sequel were filmed in Toronto, which is the most populated city in Canada. Additionally, many of the film’s interior scenes were sH๏τ at studios in Toronto.

Capri, Italy

Capri Is The Main Location In Another Simple Favor

After the premise of Another Simple Favor is set up, the characters travel to Capri, which is a small island in Southern Italy. Capri is just off the coast of Italy and is usually accessed by tourists by ferry from the city of Sorrento. Capri is undoubtedly one of the most luxurious locations in Italy, so it’s no surprise that Emily and her wealthy husband choose to get married there in Another Simple Favor. The sequel filmed most of the Capri scenes on the actual island, which results in several breathtaking sH๏τs.

The cast and crew of Another Simple Favor sH๏τ for 12 days at Capri’s Grand H๏τel Quisisana ahead of its seasonal opening, which is where the characters in the film stay while attending the wedding. The Grand H๏τel Quisisana has been one of Capri’s most luxurious H๏τels since its opening in 1845, so it makes sense that Emily and Dante choose to stay there in the film. In Another Simple Favor, the Grand H๏τel Quisisana’s lovely rooms and its large pool are shown off in several key scenes.

In addition to the Grand H๏τel Quisisana, a major shooting location for the cast and crew of Another Simple Favor was Villa Jovis, which is where Emily and Dante host their wedding reception. Villa Jovis was once a palace built by Emperor Tiberius, who is mentioned in the film. However, the palace is now in ruins. Regardless, this provides an interesting setting for Dante’s death scene in Another Simple Favor. Additionally, Tiberius’ Leap is another popular Capri location that is the setting for the ending of Another Simple Favor.

Rome, Italy

While most of the film is set on the island of Capri, the final scene of the film is set in Italy’s capital city, Rome. During Another Simple Favor’s final scene, Emily and Portia meet at the Trevi Fountain, which is one of the most popular landmarks in Rome. While no more of Rome is shown in the film, this scene sets up a potential third A Simple Favor movie. After all of Another Simple Favor’s twists, it would be interesting to see what Emily and Stephanie do in a third film.
