The young woman then explains that she and her boyfriend started arguing, and she proceeded to hit him with a rock, killing him. Kate ᴀssists in covering up the crime, dumping the man’s body into a lake. As the scene evolves, tensions grow as Claire grapples with what she has done and Kate goes to great lengths to cover for her.

What This Means For Echo Valley

The Movie Has Huge Talent Attached

Echo Valley has a strong team of actors, whose prowess is already visible from the trailer. The text on screen emphasizes that Moore is an Oscar winner and Sweeney is an Emmy nominee. While other strong cast members are surrounding them, the trailer makes it clear that Sweeney and Moore will really be at the heart of this narrative. So far, these performances look stirring as both leads tackle intense drama and take extreme measures.

The trailer also notes that the film is by the writer of Mare of Easttown, Brad Ingelsby. The HBO miniseries also covered a small-town murder, taking on a similarly intense tone. The series was incredibly successful, earning several Emmy nominations, including for the writing. While the format differs from that of the longer-form miniseries, Ingelsby hopefully employed some of the same dramatic tactics he used in Mare of Easttown on Echo Valley.

Our Take On The Echo Valley Trailer

Domhnall Gleeson Looks Great

Echo Valley is another great chance for Gleeson to show off his range. While he has often played protagonists, he has proven himself to be a great villain before through the series The Patient. While his role in this Apple TV+ original film is not the same as this former part, it has some glimpses of the kind of ominous nature that he has managed to play before. This could be a great opportunity for Gleeson to shine as a key supporting character in Echo Valley.

Echo Valley will be released on Apple TV+ on June 13.
