Jason Statham’s $152.4M Action Movie Emerges On Streaming Charts As Sequel Development Heats Up

Jason Statham is one of the most notable action film actors working today. This year, Statham was in A Working Man, where he played a construction worker who takes matters into his own hands when a young girl vanishes. As was the case with many of Statham’s movies, the film was a box office success, making $98.1 million on an estimated $40 million budget. He has a busy slate of upcoming movies that includes Mutiny and Fast X: Part 2.

While he has been in his fair share of one-off movies, franchises have been a huge part of Statham’s career. His most notable franchises include the Fast & Furious movies and the Expendables series, wherein he plays members of the ensemble-based films. However, Statham began his career working in standalone movies like Guy Ritchie’s Snatch. Now, one of Statham’s action movies from last year is getting a sequel, and the 2024 release is a streaming success.

The Beekeeper Is Buzzy On Streaming

The Movie Came Out Last Year

The Beekeeper is now doing well on streaming. The action movie is a collaboration between Statham and David Ayer, who also directed A Working Man this year. The film follows the story of a man named Adam Clay who goes on a path to revenge after his landlady commits suicide. The Beekeeper got mixed reviews, getting a 72% Tomatometer, but it had a respectable showing in theaters. The movie ended up making $162.6 million at the worldwide box office. The development of The Beekeeper 2 was then officially announced this year.

ScreenRant‘s Mae Abdulbaki gave The Beekeeper 6 out of 10 stars, referring to the film as “an engaging ride.”

Per FlixPatrol, The Beekeeper has now made its way onto the streaming charts. The movie is in the no. 9 slot on Prime Video’s top 10 movies in the United States today, May 5. The film joins a top 10 list that includes Another Simple Favor, Conclave, The Accountant, Gladiator II, G20, Twisters, Ford v Ferrari, Die Alone, and The Lorax.

What This Means For The Beekeeper

This Is Good News For The Sequel As It Continues Development
