Together Trailer: Alison Brie & Dave Franco’s Romance Takes A Nightmarish Turn In Body Horror Movie With 100% RT Score

The full trailer has been released for Together. The movie is a psychological horror film about a couple who move to the countryside sets off a supernatural incident. The film features a leading duo of Alison Brie and Dave Franco, and a supporting cast that includes Damon Herriman, Karl Richmond, Jack Kenny, and Francesca Waters. Together is written and directed by Michael Shanks, who also appears in the movie. The movie will release on July 30. Both Brie and Franco serve as producers on the project alongside Mike Cowap, Eric Feig, Julia Hammer, and Tim Headington, among others.

Now, NEON has released the trailer for Together. The trailer opens by showing the leads sleeping in separate bedrooms, with Tim (Franco)saying “I love you” and his wife, Mille (Brie), responding with “okay.” The trailer cuts to a scene of Millie explaining that they have not been in their usual groove and might be “complacent.” The pair then becomes increasingly interconnected, eventually experiencing literal physical connectedness that takes on eerie dimensions.

What This Means For Together

The Movie Was Well-Received At Sundance

While the movie has not yet been made widely available to the public, Together premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in February of this year. Together‘s reviews were glowing, and as of now, the movie has a perfect 100% Tomatometer with 46 reviews. One of the film’s champions was ScreenRant‘s Patrice Witherspoon, who gave the movie 8 out of 10 stars and called it “a squirm-worthy experience backed by great performances.”

The trailer helps establish just how important this couple’s romantic dynamic — whether flourishing or faltering — will be in Together. This concept is made more interesting by the fact that Brie and Franco are a married couple in real life. Off-screen, they have been married for eight years, but will be challenged to portray an on-screen bond that is far more fractured. The Together trailer hints that the fictional couple’s bond may strengthen as they confront supernatural terror, but exactly where they end up remains to be seen.

Our Take On The Together Trailer

This Looks To Be A Good Body Horror Film

Demi Moore wearing the velvet dress in The Substance

Together looks to be a fun take on the body horror film. The past couple of years have brought a lot of great movies in the body horror subgenre, with the most notable example being last year’s Oscar-winning movie The Substance. Together does not look as bodily and visceral as something like The Substance, but it still features some disconcerting fusing of bodies while also showcasing a unique dynamic between its protagonists.
