Of the many actors populating the Hollywood A-list landscape right now, Chris Hemsworth is one of the less typical cases. Most actors get their start in smaller movies and work their way up to blockbuster status. In Hemsworth’s case, his feature film debut was part of a major IP, Star Trek. After playing George Kirk in 2009, the actor made his MCU debut as the тιтular Norse God superhero in Thor in 2011. He has continued to be a huge blockbuster actor, recently providing his voice talents for Transformers One.
Other actors have had more conventionally varied careers. Such is the case with Halle Berry, who got her start in roles in films like Jungle Fever, Strictly Business, and Boomerang. She later transitioned into more conventional blockbusters, making her debut as Storm in X-Men in 2000 and the тιтular superheroine in Catwoman. She has also made an impact on the action genre, including The Union last year. Pretty soon, Berry and Hemsworth will be joining forces with other A-listers for a crime thriller that just scored a release date.

What This Means For Crime 101
February Is An Inconsistent Release Month
On the surface, this is a surprisingly early release date for Crime 101. With such a big-name cast, a thriller like this would often vie for a release closer to the summer, when the blockbuster season is ripe. To its credit, however, Crime 101 will come out at a time when there is less compeтιтion. February tends to be a rocky time for new releases, but this could also signal an opportunity for the star-studded action film.
