After Reacher Season 4’s Production Update, There’s One Character Neagley’s Spinoff Needs To Include

Not a lot seems to be known about Reacher season 4, but a concerning update surrounding its production suggests that the Neagley spin-off must add one character to its roster. So far, Reacher has performed incredibly well on Amazon Prime Video, with each of its installments earning almost unanimous acclaim from critics. Even from a commercial standpoint, the IP’s value only seems to have grown, explaining why Reacher season 4 and a Neagley spin-off show are now underway.

Given how, unlike the parent series, the Neagley spin-off show will not adapt any books and follow an original narrative, it is hard not to be curious about how it will turn out. It has been confirmed that it will follow the тιтular character’s crime-solving endeavors as a private investigator, but little seems to be known about its other cast members. Regardless of how the spin-off show unfolds, it should include one major character from its parent series after one major Reacher production update.

Reacher Season 4 May Take Longer Than Season 3 Due To Neagley’s Spin-Off

Reports Suggest Reacher Season 4’s Production Will Only Start After Neagley Season 1’s Completion

Many reports have confirmed that after Reacher season 3, the Neagley spin-off’s first installment is now in production. While that is great news, it has also been reported (via TV Line) that, since Neagley largely shares its crew with its parent series, Reacher season 4’s production may not begin until the spin-off’s filming is completely done. If the people behind the franchise are primarily focusing on the Neagley spin-off for now, viewers will likely have to wait for a while before they can watch Reacher season 4.

Although the Amazon Prime Video detective series has never experienced any significant dips in critical ratings, its second season was widely considered an inferior installment compared to season 1. With season 3, however, the show seemingly returned to form and, in turn, raised even more hype for what lies ahead in the franchise. Unfortunately, even though it is hard not to wait for Reacher season 4, it will likely come out anytime soon since the Neagley spin-off is scheduled to release before it.

Neagley Can Ease The Wait For Reacher Season 4 By Featuring Alan Ritchson Cameos

Reacher Cannot Have Too Big Of A Role In The Neagley Spin-Off

To ensure that viewers do not miss Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher a little too much while waiting for season 4, the Neagley spin-off can feature him in a smaller capacity. Just like Neagley has brief but memorable roles in both Reacher seasons 1 and 3, despite not being one of the main characters, Jack Reacher, too, can appear in the spin-off’s closing arc to help Neagley. The parent series has already established that, unlike Reacher, Neagley does not shy away from reaching out for help.

The spin-off must ensure that Ritchson’s Jack Reacher has a limited role because his presence in the series could shift the entire focus on him, killing the point of having a spin-off dedicated to Neagley.

In fact, towards the end of Reacher season 2, she even asks the Alan Ritchson character to treat her like family and stay in touch. Owing to these plot developments, Reacher’s return in the Neagley spin-off would be consistent with the series’ established story beats. However, the spin-off must ensure that Ritchson’s Jack Reacher has a limited role because his presence in the series could shift the entire focus on him, killing the point of having a spin-off dedicated to Neagley.
