Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom Fights Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man & Henry Cavill’s Wolverine In Avengers: Doomsday Concept Trailer

Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom enters the Marvel Cinematic Universe through a new Avengers: Doomsday concept trailer. As Phase 5 gets ready to come to an end with the arrival of Thunderbolts*, Marvel Studios is already working on Phase 6 of The Multiverse Saga, which will finally see not one, but two Avengers movies on the slate for the first time since Phase 3. Avengers: Doomsday will also be introducing Doctor Doom into the franchise, though it will be in the form of a very familiar face as the iconic baddie, as Downey Jr. is bringing the Marvel legend to life.

With Avengers: Doomsday finally rolling the cameras as of this week, fans are eagerly waiting to get a glimpse of Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in action. While time will tell who else is in the film, Mr. Vegas Official made an Avengers: Doomsday concept trailer showing Victor von Doom taking on some of the most classic Marvel heroes of all time. Check it out below:

The Avengers: Doomsday concept trailer features Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, as well as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and one of the live-action Hulks, as they face Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom wielding an infinity gauntlet. However, Jackman isn’t the only Logan variant to pop up, as Henry Cavill’s Wolverine (or Cavillrine) from ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine also pops up in the showdown.

What The Avengers: Doomsday Concept Trailer Means For The MCU Movie

As several stars have already been revealed for the Avengers: Doomsday cast, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that there are more announcements on their way. Given the mᴀssive scope of Avengers: Doomsday and also Avengers: Secret Wars, it’s clear that fan expectations are higher than ever for the MCU. With a concept trailer like this, it’s evident that the MCU audience is expecting to see major Marvel icons that aren’t just from the Avengers-based franchise.

While they may not have been revealed yet, it would be shocking if Marvel Studios didn’t already have players like Maguire and Jackman locked in for Avengers: Doomsday and/or Avengers: Secret Wars. Given that The Multiverse Saga is rumored to be setting up a soft reboot for the MCU timeline, this may potentially be the last time some of these actors get to portray their respective Marvel characters. Whether or not the MCU may get another sH๏τ at the Cavillrine, however, is a bigger question, given that his cameo was more so for fun for ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine.

After seeing how powerful the MCU could make Doctor Doom through the Avengers: Doomsday concept trailer, it will be fascinating to see how far Marvel Studios will go with Downey Jr.’s version of the Marvel foe. If Marvel legacy actors like Maguire and Jackman were to come back for Avengers: Doomsday, it would fulfill a long-time Marvel crossover dream for fans, as the two actors represented the early 2000s era of superheroes on the big screen. Hopefully, more details on Avengers: Doomsday including what other characters will be appearing – will begin to emerge as principal pH๏τography is underway.
