After Havoc, Check Out Tom Hardy’s Other New Release On Streaming That Has Many Similarities To The Action-Heavy Crime Movie

Tom Hardy’s new action film Havoc has garnered attention from Netflix audiences, but it actually has some surprising similarities to Hardy’s other new release that is streaming on Paramount+. Havoc has received mixed reviews so far, but critics have praised Gareth Evans’ direction and the stars’ performances. This sentiment rings true as Havoc‘s cast is full of familiar faces, with Hardy leading the way as Walker, a homicide detective with a murky past and an allegiance to the corrupt politician Lawrence Beaumont (Forest Whitaker).

The action-packed crime keeps audiences hooked until Havoc‘s ending, which leaves a degree of ambiguity in Walker’s fate. The movie blurs the division between the good and bad guys, showcasing just how complicated the criminal underworld can be, and Walker certainly falls into the same category. Since it is unclear whether he will pay for his past, Havoc sets up a sequel to Walker’s story. Just days after the movie’s release, nothing has been announced yet, but in the meantime, fans of Havoc should check out Hardy’s new TV show.

Fans Of Havoc Should Check Out Tom Hardy In Paramount+’s MobLand

The New Crime Series Is Also Full Of Action-Packed & Tense Moments

For audiences who enjoyed Hardy’s work in Havoc, his new Paramount+ series MobLand is the perfect next watch. Like Havoc, MobLand has a stellar cast led by Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren alongside Hardy. The crime series takes place in contemporary London and follows the exploits of the Harrigan crime family. The Harrigans are ruthless in their determination to control London’s criminal underground and willing to go to extremes to stay ahead of their compeтιтion, particularly their rival crime family the Stevensons.

MobLand is not all action though, as the series is also able to build compelling characters along with its more ᴅᴇᴀᴅly clashes, creating the perfect balance.

Within the Harrigans’ complex, gritty world, Tom Hardy stars as Harry Da Souza, a fixer for the family. Harry is intimately tied to the Harrgians’ business and knows where the bodies are buried. As the series progresses, the conflict between the Harrigans and the Stevensons gets increasingly messy and loyalties are tested all around. MobLand is not all action though, as the series is also able to build compelling characters along with its more ᴅᴇᴀᴅly clashes, creating the perfect balance.

Tom Hardy’s MobLand Character Has A Lot In Common With His Role In Havoc

Hardy Is Reliable As A Tough, Morally Complex Leading Man

Hardy’s role as Harry Da Souza in MobLand is also strikingly similar to his character, Walker, in Havoc. Both men are constantly surrounded by crime and corruption and do weigh the ramifications of their choices. While Walker is a detective in Havoc (and seemingly at least somewhat on the right side of the law) and Harry is fixer for a crime family, the characters are actually quite similar in their approach to problems. What’s more, Walker does have a proven dark side as he works with Lawrence to cover up his son’s crime.

In addition to these similarities in what the characters do action-wise throughout both films, their personalities and personal problems are somewhat parallel as well. Both Harry and Walker have strained relationships with their wives and a child that they want to connect with. In short, though Hardy’s characters are both hardened and able to resort to violence as needed, both in Havoc and MobLand he is able to create a necessary emotional core that elevates the projects and showcases his skill as a performer.
