$1.6 Billion Jurᴀssic Park Franchise Movie Enters Streaming Charts Ahead Of Jurᴀssic World: Rebirth Release

The Jurᴀssic Park franchise has been going on for over 30 years now. It began with Steven Spielberg’s 1993 film, which first introduced audiences to Grant, Ellie, and the theme park of cloned dinosaurs that ends up going awry. The film was a huge success, winning three Oscars for its technical elements. The film grossed $914 million worldwide during its initial release, which was an exorbitant total given the time of its release and its estimated $63 million budget. The movie was followed up by Jurᴀssic Park: The Lost World four years later, and a franchise was born.

The Jurᴀssic Park franchise is far from over, as there is yet another installment coming out this year. Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is set for release in theaters on July 2. Directed by Gareth Edwards, this installment in the dinosaur series features a leading cast including Scarlett Johansson, Rupert Friend, Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, David Iacono, and Luna Blaise. Now, one of the Jurᴀssic Park franchise films is charting on streaming.

Jurᴀssic World Is On The Streaming Charts

The Movie Did Well In Theaters

Jurᴀssic World has now made it onto the streaming charts. The 2015 movie returned to the location of the original dinosaur films, where a new theme park is made, and a new terrifying genetically modified dinosaur is introduced. This Colin Trevorrow-directed installment was a huge box office hit, making over $1.6 billion worldwide. It featured a leading cast including Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. The movie kick-started a new segment of the franchise, which will continue with Jurᴀssic World Rebirth this year.

Per FlixPatrol, Jurᴀssic World has now made it onto the streaming charts. The movie came in at no. 10 on Prime Video’s top 10 movies in the United States today, April 28. It joins a chart list that includes Conclave, The Accountant, Gladiator II, G20, Twisters, Ford v Ferrari, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and The Lorax.

What This Means For The Jurᴀssic World Franchise

This Is Good News For Jurᴀssic World Rebirth

Jurᴀssic World‘s success on the streaming charts a decade later is a good sign for the health of the franchise. Jurᴀssic World Dominion received negative reviews, though it ultimately did well at the box office. Coming out in just over two months, Rebirth will attempt to be another box office darling in the Jurᴀssic World and broader Jurᴀssic Park franchise. The 2015 movie’s streaming status is a good sign that audiences are showing continued interest in the films, boding well for Rebirth.
