Anakin Skywalker & Mace Windu Just Crashed Revenge Of The Sith

Anakin Skywalker actor Hayden Christensen and Mace Windu actor Samuel L. Jackson just crashed one screening of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith’s re-release in theaters. Revenge of the Sith is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and that thrillingly meant the return of one of Star Wars’ best movies to the big screen. Already, there has been plenty of fanfare around this theatrical rerelease, and two of Star Wars’ best characters just made it so much better.

In a video posted to Star Wars’ official TikTok account, Mace Windu actor Samuel L. Jackson and Anakin Skywalker actor Hayden Christensen delighted the audience at El Capitan Theatre Hollywood with their surprise appearance at the theatrical rerelease of Revenge of the Sith. In addition to Christensen doing Anakin’s iconic spin move with a lightsaber, the two discussed their experiences of and reflections on Revenge of the Sith.

In addition to this being a delightful surprise, this shows just how much staying power Revenge of the Sith has had and confirms that the movie’s actors continue to have love for the prequel trilogy.

What Samuel L. Jackson And Hayden Christensen’s Appearance Means For Star Wars

Both Actors Remain Dedicated To This Franchise

One of the most meaningful aspects of this appearance by Christensen and Jackson is the fact that it proves both actors continue to have love for Revenge of the Sith and the prequel trilogy era in general. This is far from the only example of that appreciation for these movies enduring for the actors, as well. Clearly, actors like Ewan McGregor also feel that way, given his return to the franchise in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

That is one of the things that really does make Star Wars feel so special. So many actors who have appeared in Star Wars movies and TV shows continue to feel connected to the franchise, even decades after their most recent on-screen appearance. This is particularly special in this case, given there were so many complaints about the Star Wars prequel trilogy when the movies came out. Evidently, many prequel trilogy actors remain undeterred regardless.

Our Take On Samuel L. Jackson And Hayden Christensen Crashing Revenge Of The Sith’s Rerelease

It’s Great To See Prequel Trilogy Actors Together Again—Especially These Two

Anakin Skywalker and Mace Windu discussing Palpatine being a Sith Lord in Revenge of the Sith

Seeing Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson crash this screening of Revenge of the Sith is fantastic, particularly given the characters they portray. While this undoubtedly didn’t extend to the actors themselves, Mace Windu and Anakin Skywalker had a volatile relationship from the very beginning. Even when Anakin was a child in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, there was serious tension there.

This obviously came to a head with Anakin confronting Mace Windu in Palpatine’s office, which was the final nail in the coffin for Anakin Skywalker (and the Jedi Order, by extension). 20 years later, seeing Mace Windu and Anakin Skywalker actors Samuel L. Jackson and Hayden Christensen come back together to celebrate the movie was so meaningful. Anakin Skywalker and Mace Windu crashing this screening of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith really was the perfect way to celebrate the Star Wars movie’s 20th anniversary.
