What Was Inside The Barrel That Walker Got Rid Of In Havoc

WARNING: SPOILERS ahead for Havoc.

Tom Hardy’s Walker pushes off a mysterious unmarked barrel at the beginning of Havoc that has a direct connection with his dark and corrupt past. The new Tom Hardy and Gareth Evans action thriller premiered on Friday, April 25, 2025, after years of delays and reshoots, becoming Evans’ first gun-fu action movie in over a decade since the release of The Raid 2. Although Hardy’s character is a cop in the unnamed city in Havoc, Walker certainly has blood on his hands and with it, plenty of ghosts.

Throughout the course of Havoc, Walker’s backstory with another crooked cop named Vincent is revealed, bringing them back to one unfortunate incident involving an undercover cop. Vincent and his boys, Jake and Hayes, have been known to intercept drug shipments – thanks to being tipped off by the traitorous Ching, a member of the Triads – and it appears that Walker used to be involved. This leads to him gravely injuring an undercover cop by mistake, and Vincent pulling the trigger to leave zero loose ends.

What Was Hidden In The Barrel & Why Walker Pushed It Off The Dock In Havoc

It’s Likely The Body Of The Undercover Cop That Walker Injured & Vincent Killed

While it’s not explicitly made clear what was in the barrel seen at the beginning of Havoc, it’s implied that it could very well contain the ᴅᴇᴀᴅ body of the undercover cop that Walker injured and Vincent killed. This would make the most sense, given that Walker and Vincent never reveal what happened to the body in any other scene. It could also just be Walker pushing an empty barrel of gasoline, which they seemed to have used to burn down the warehouse where they killed the undercover cop.

If Walker, Vincent, and the other crooked cops had left the undercover cop’s body in the warehouse, then they would certainly have burned everything inside to destroy the evidence and cover up their crime. Whether the undercover cop’s body was in the barrel or not, Walker was getting rid of evidence connected to his untimely death. The fact that Walker, Vincent, and the others never got caught proves that whether they burned the body in the warehouse or disposed of it in the barrel, they did enough to avoid detection.

How The Barrel Connects To Walker’s Corrupt History In Havoc

The barrel is an instrumental part of Walker’s corrupt history since it is directly connected to the shameful and criminal thing that he and Vincent did with the undercover cop. It proves that even though these cops are sworn to protect the law, they also break it to protect themselves and manipulate outcomes outside their duty to justice.

The barrel is symbolic of Walker and Vincent’s shared secret, especially when they become the only two left alive at the end of Havoc who know the truth. This is why Vincent tries to kill Walker before Walker shoots him ᴅᴇᴀᴅ in Havoc.
