Andy Serkis’ Animal Farm adaptation will feature an all-star voice cast, including stars from Stranger Things, The Big Bang Theory, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Based on George Orwell’s novella of the same name, the upcoming animated movie, slated for a 2025 release, follows a group of farm animals who rebel against humans, setting out to be their own masters. The book is often read in high school, as it serves as an allegory for the Russian Revolution and provides timeless political commentary.
The full voice cast of Serkis’ Animal Farm has been announced via Variety, featuring many well-known names from successful franchises. Seth Rogen (The Interview), Gaten Matarazzo (Stranger Things), Steve Buscemi (The Sopranos), Glenn Close (101 Dalmatians), Laverne Cox (Orange is the New Black), Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain), Woody Harrelson (Venom: Let There Be Carnage), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Kathleen Turner (The Estate) and Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel) have lent their voices to the project. What The All-Star Cast Means For Animal Farm
Animal Farm Is Hitting Theaters This Summer
Rogen’s Napoleon is at the center of Animal Farm‘s plot as the new leader of the animals after the human owners are overthrown. Much like his co-stars who have left their marks on popular franchises and critically acclaimed projects, The Studio star has been spotted in several animated movies in the past, including voicing Mantis in Kung Fu Panda, Frank in Sausage Party, and Bebop in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
The film will also mark the first non-Marvel voice role for the Ms. Marvel star, who has been exclusively starring in MCU projects until taking a role in Shiver. Nicholas Stoller, who penned the script for the upcoming Animal Farm, teased some exciting changes they made to the character dynamics, promising a darker and more modern adaptation 80 years after the novella was first published in 1945. The movie will arrive in theaters on July 11.
