Michael B. Jordan’s Sinners co-star Miles Caton reveals his ideal Marvel casting. Sinners marks the fifth film in Ryan Coogler’s directing career and his fifth collaboration with Michael B. Jordan, continuing a creative partnership that began with Fruitvale Station and reached global acclaim with Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where Jordan’s performance as Eric Killmonger stood out. Sinners is also the feature film debut of twenty-year-old musician Miles Caton, who plays the guitar player Sammie “Preacher Boy” Moore.
In an interview with Variety, Sinners star Miles Caton was asked what kind of movie he’d like to star in, as well as which Marvel character he’d like to play. Caton admits he’s a Marvel fan and hints at his ideal casting as Miles Morales. Read Miles Caton’s full response below:
“I love comedy. Action. Adventure. I’m a big Marvel fan. Marvel, that’s top of the top, so shooting for the stars. (…) I mean, my name is Miles…”

Miles Caton Qualifies For An MCU Miles Morales Role
There have been several versions of Miles Morales since his 2011 comic book debut. However, virtually every known Miles Morales in the Marvel multiverse is Aaron Davis’ kind-hearted, music-loving, slightly awkward but notably outgoing nephew, who’s younger than his Spider-Man mentor Peter Parker. Miles Caton plays a character with similar traits to Miles Morales in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, where his pᴀssion for music connects him to a higher plane, and some of his relatives throw him into a dangerous world that brings his talent to the surface.
The actor who’ll play Miles Morales in the MCU is unlikely to be a famous name. Marvel castings depend on many factors other than popularity, and Miles Morales’ young age requires an actor with a short filmography. Miles Caton is starting his acting career with the right foot on Sinners, which not only gives Caton a co-protagonist role, but also adds an enviable credit to his career alongside Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘s Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan. Having showcased his acting chops on Sinners, Miles Caton’s door to Marvel may be wide open.
Our Take On Miles Caton’s Miles Morales Comments
Miles Morales’ Live-Action Casting Is Hard To Predict
As of Sinners’ 2025 release, the MCU has only teased Miles Morales’ introduction in Spider-Man: Homecoming, where Donald Glover’s Aaron Davis mentioned his nephew. Since then, the MCU hasn’t addressed Miles Morales again, and Sony’s Spider-Man Universe never hinted at its version of Miles. When and where exactly Miles Morales will make his live-action debut is still unknown. Since Miles Morales’ young age is key to his casting, it’s difficult to predict whether a twenty-year-old actor will be the right age when Marvel decides to adapt the character. For now, Sinners‘ Miles Caton remains a candidate worth considering.
