The latest installment of the Jurᴀssic Park series, Jurᴀssic World Rebirth, is set to be released in July, and the most recent featurette has teased that the movie will be a much-needed return to the series’ classic survival formula. The original 1993 Jurᴀssic Park was groundbreaking at the time of its release and remains the best film in the Jurᴀssic Park/World series. The original movie saw scientists venture to a remote island where they are eventually left fighting for their lives against the prehistoric creatures, and Jurᴀssic World Rebirth hints at an updated take on this exciting concept.
Jurᴀssic World Rebirth has a stellar cast led by Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, and Rupert Friend as a group of experts attempting to gather DNA from dinosaurs to use in the development of lifesaving medication. Jurᴀssic World Rebirth will take place five years after the events of Jurᴀssic World Dominion, during which time dinosaurs have been isolated into tropical locations. In a search for lifesaving genetic material, the team ventures back to the island setting for Jurᴀssic Park, where the dinosaurs have grown more dangerous than ever.
Jurᴀssic World Rebirth Promises To Be A “Survival” Story Like The Original Movie
The New Movie Will Adapt Jurᴀssic Park’s Classic Formula
Jurᴀssic World Rebirth‘s recent featurette trailer includes additional information from the cast and crew about some of the things that audiences can look forward to, and Scarlett Johansson teases that the film “harkens back” to the original Jurᴀssic Park by creating a true “survival story.” Jonathan Bailey likewise notes that fans of the original will enjoy it. Based on what has been revealed about the film so far, Jurᴀssic World Rebirth seems to be a clear departure from the previous Jurᴀssic World movies, and this is definitely for the best.
The original Jurᴀssic Park is so beloved and has had such an important legacy, but the Jurᴀssic World reboots have become increasingly poorly received. By returning to a survival movie with more horror aspects and real danger for the characters, Jurᴀssic World Rebirth has the potential to tap into what fans love about the original movie while still being able to tell its own story. The new Jurᴀssic World Rebirth trailer teases more dangerous dinosaurs than ever and some very impressive action sequences that are sure to keep audiences at the edge of their seats.
Going Back To The Franchise’s Roots Is Already Paying Off For Jurᴀssic World Rebirth
The New Trailer Is Already Getting More Positive Feedback Than Its Predecessor Received
The new trailer for Jurᴀssic World Rebirth already looks very promising, showing that the return to the series’ roots was a good choice. While Jurᴀssic World Dominion was a box office success, it received negative reviews, with critics noting that the story of humans and dinosaurs living side by side was not fully fleshed out. In contrast, the upcoming sequel nearly ignores what Dominion set up by bringing its characters back to an island research facility from the original Jurᴀssic Park, allowing the movie to pull in foundational elements from the original movie and book.
Jurᴀssic Park Rebirth will use the key elements of having one primary setting the characters are trying to escape, scary dinosaurs (which even seem to be getting a mutant update), and even some action sequences from the book that the original movie left out. In particular, the new featurette shows clips of the river raft sequence which followed Dr. Grant and the Murphy children rafting over a waterfall. The clips that have been released so far highlight just how much Jurᴀssic World Rebirth is attempting to connect to the original, and it certainly seems to be paying off.
