Kathryn Hahn’s Scarlet Witch & Agatha Reunion Hopes Make A Major MCU Dream 1 Step Closer To Reality

A Marvel Cinematic Universe reunion between Agatha Harkness and the Scarlet Witch could be closer than ever to reality after Kathryn Hahn’s recent comments. Hahn last appeared in the ending of Agatha All Along, the solo journey for the character that aired in the latter months of 2024 on Disney+. This story spun out of the ending of WandaVision, following Agatha attempting to regain her witchy powers after the Scarlet Witch took them from her in the 2021 story.

For the most part, Agatha All Along was surprising as one of the better-ranked Marvel TV shows. Not many expected it to be as purely enjoyable as it was, with Hahn’s performance, the rest of Agatha All Along‘s cast, and the tease that the character had an MCU future all contributing to the show’s success. Where the latter element is concerned, the possibility of Agatha interacting with more MCU characters in the future was left wide open given her newfound connection with Billy Maximoff, Wanda’s son. This, combined with Hahn’s recent comments, makes a dream reunion between Wanda and Agatha more likely than ever.

Scarlet Witch & Agatha Harkness’ Stories Since They Last Saw Each Other In The MCU Makes A Reunion Absolutely Fascinating

The Witches Have Somewhat Swapped Roles

Firstly, it is worth exploring why a reunion between the Scarlet Witch and Agatha Harkness would be so intriguing in the MCU. At the end of WandaVision, Wanda defeated Agatha and locked her in Westview, with the former a hero and the latter squarely a villain. Since then, the changes the two have undergone are significant. Wanda became one of the MCU’s strongest villains in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, embarking on a multiversal killing spree to recover the children she lost in WandaVision.

With these changes in mind, it would be fascinating to see how Agatha and Wanda interact now…

After her apparent death, Agatha was freed, leading to her journey of somewhat redemption in Agatha All Along. Agatha found this redemption in the form of her new coven, as well as Wanda’s son, Billy Maximoff. As of Agatha All Along‘s ending, the тιтular witch was shown acting as a spiritual guide for Billy. With these changes in mind, it would be fascinating to see how Agatha and Wanda interact now; would the latter forgive the former now that she is helping her son? How would Agatha feel about Wanda’s villainous turn? The questions are all compelling.

Scarlet Witch’s MCU Death Makes A Reunion Significantly Harder For The MCU To Pull Off

Though Wanda’s Fate Is Admittedly Ambiguous

Admittedly, though, this reunion would be hard to pull off at present. The reason for this is the aforementioned death that Scarlet Witch seemingly suffered. At the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Scarlet Witch saw the error of her ways and destroyed the mountain of Wundagore, bringing the debris and rocks down on top of her. This death was apparently what freed Agatha Harkness from the spell Wanda had put on her, kickstarting the events of Agatha All Along.

However, there have been theories about Scarlet Witch’s return since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Many have wondered whether the character simply faked her own death, explaining her absence in the last few years. Others have theorized that her disappearance had something to do with the multiverse, given the Scarlet Witch prophecy that she is fated to destroy it. Another common theory about her return involves multiversal variants, only with the wrinkle that this variant would not be the Scarlet Witch, as there is only one. Evidently, though, a Wanda-Agatha reunion would be tricky.

Kathryn Hahn’s Scarlet Witch Comments Make An Agatha & Scarlet Witch Reunion A Little Bit More Likely

With all of this in mind, an MCU reunion between the two characters could still be possible. One leading reason for this is Kathryn Hahn, who recently revealed which characters she would most like to come up against in upcoming MCU movies or TV shows. When appearing on Mythical Kitchen’s Last Meal series, Hahn was asked about this, stating that the likes of Doctor Strange and Loki would be fun companions for Agatha Harkness after her role in Agatha All Along.

Despite choosing these two characters, Hahn went on to say that she is not opposed to sharing the screen with Wanda Maximoff again. This, combined with Agatha’s closeness to Billy Maximoff, could lead to a reunion down the line. If Hahn pushes for such a reunion, it would be hard for Marvel to ignore, especially with the endless theories being crafted meaning that Scarlet Witch’s death is not being taken as gospel. Years after their last meeting in WandaVision, an MCU reunion between the two witches could be closer to reality than ever.
