SNL-Studded Sєx Comedy Summer Of 69 Reveals Release Date & Character PH๏τos

Don’t confuse Summer of 69 with a period piece or a Bryan Adams biopic, although the modern Sєx comedy from writer/director Jillian Bell does harken back to an earlier era. Bell, making her feature film directorial debut with Summer of 69, has crafted a movie that ᴅᴇᴀᴅline’s review has called “a hilarious tribute to classic teen films, presented through the female gaze.” Even without the film’s cast of Saturday Night Live alums and winning comedians, the movie has an impressive pedigree with Bell alone–she’s a former SNL writer whose acting roles include Curb Your Enthusiasm and Kinda Pregnant.

ScreenRant is able to debut images of the Summer of 69 cast and share the movie’s upcoming release date. The images showcase the looks of all the film’s main characters, especially Chloe Fineman’s Santa Monica and Sam Morelos’ Abby Flores. Telling the story of a Sєxually inexperienced gamer who goes on a quest to learn the movie’s тιтular bedroom technique after overhearing her crush’s favorite position, Summer of 69 will be released to Hulu on May 9. Until then, check out ScreenRant’s list of the other best movies on Hulu.

The stars of Summer of 69 are Saturday Night Live cast member Chloe Fineman, seen here revealing how she really feels about Elon Musk, and That ‘90s Show’s Sam Morelos. Fineman plays Santa Monica, an exotic dancer hoping to save her club from foreclosure. Morelos’ Abby is a socially awkward, and Sєxually inexperienced, gamer who overhears her crush’s favorite Sєx position and turns to Santa Monica for help. Despite an age gap and very different life experiences, the pair forge a relationship that becomes the beating heart of the film.

Santa Monica’s workplace, Diamond Dolls, is a key setting in Summer of 69, and as such many of the movie’s other characters are tied to it. Paula Pell plays Betty, a proud, self-proclaimed stripper who owns the club–and whose unfortunate business decisions are putting it at risk of being taken over by Rick Richards, played by Mythic Quest co-creator Charlie Day. Also at the club are Alex Moffat’s feminist DJ Don, Liza Koshy’s sweet but clueless dancer Angel, and Santa Monica’s dependable and loyal friend Destiny, played by Nicole Byer. Paula Pell and Alex Moffat are also SNL alums.

Summer of 69 is about Abby trying to win over Max, played by High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ Matt Cornett, but Santa Monica has her own struggles as well. Natalie Morales plays Robin Goode in the movie, a former classmate of Santa Monica’s who represents everything the dancer wishes she were.
